Hi, I'm Stuart
EDIT: Firstly Appologies; I didnt read the rules properly regarding the thread title
Its a 1987 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands.....
Off to a great start......
Anyways..
I found this site from a forwarded email about the Abandoned cars, and WOW what a find!!
I have a 280 Brooklands capri, that I bought some years ago and although cosmetically it was pretty sound, besides some stone chipping on the bonnet, a wheel refurb, and some general tlc, mecanically it was a bit of a shambols, having been plagued with a misfire for several years and having been 'fixed' by several garages unsucessfully!
And so I decided to start at the beginning with a full engine strip and rebuild, paint of the engine bay, and nut and bolt rebuild of the engine, and then the gearbox too as the leyshaft was noisy.
Sadly and stupidly I don't have pictures of it all. But here are some from the engine restoration, and from the finished car.
Can I just say again though what an AWESOME forum!!!!!
Here's some pictures......
Stuart
Unfortunately I have none from the strip down of the engine itself because I well...... I didnt take any
But heres some of it going back in, with a bit of assistance from my Dad and a mate from work.

Notice I am lying under the car putting bell housing bolts in and my dad is levering the engine backwards into the box with a plank of wood..... he called it team work, personally I was extremely concerned about my fingers more than his tema work!!!!

Well thats the lot for now. I really wish I had taken more but I didnt and I regret it bigtime!
Still got bits and pieces to do, have a new dashboard to fit as the one in the car is cracked, and I have an original stereo to fit but I will do that when I replace the dash in the spring! its tucked away for the winter at the moment.
Thanks for looking
Stuart
