Got my new car yesturday, Mk2 Fiesta Popular Plus 1.0L (poverty spec lol) Mot till march, 6 months tax, cant complain for £425 Shells tidy, no structural rust except for the battery tray (getting that plated asap) got a few scabs of surface rust here n there, mainly on the bumpers but they'll be off soon Done 56k since new and only 150miles since the last mot in march, 40 of which were me driving it back home Got a slight niggle with the carb, recon its overfueling, will give it a tweak after xmas and get her running sweet, anyone know where I should be looking on the carb for the mixture screw? Will get some pics up soon

Unless the shell is a stunner, I'm thinking the bargain isn't looking quite so good atm. I hope you manage to sort it soon though, then you'll feel mighily proud of your purchase once again knowing that you have a good looking, cheap runabout.

As matt said.. Make sure you fault find methodically and only replace one thing at a time to figure out whats wrong. That said, it sounds like a proper basic service is in order before you start. Oils, coolant, oil and air filter, plugs, leads, cap and arm... You should at least a solid base to find the problem from if it hasnt cured it

Yours for postage if it helps you out. Drop me a PM if you want it..

Bad luck fellah. You'd wonder what the thieving feckers want with an older motor. It's just like my own first car - 957cc Popular (Plus?) in Ocean Blue if I remember correctly, with 45bhp of throbbing power.

The trouble with the older motors like this are they tend to be easier to steal which means TWOCCERS steal them for fun, rag 'em around then torch them. They don't want them as such, just take it for the sake of it. The thievin c***s.

Bend the door back. Wind the window down, then put your nee into the crease and pull it back slowly, a little at a time on either end. Won't be perfect, but should it get it a bit more weather tight.
Then get a big disk lock on your steering wheel. They won't bother with it then.
