Theres a 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser which was used in the movie Once Upon a Time in The Midlands which I am watching now and which was filmed on my old hood. I ran the plate of the Oldsmobile and Date of Liability 01 01 2010 Date of First Registration 11 01 1972 Year of Manufacture 1970 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 5737CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour GOLD 14 months with no tax. Reckon its still out there? Like that.

It doesnt say sorn not due. Or sorn due. So either someone has a big fine coming their way. Or its been declared scrap? At a guess.
Or left the country

George (3) selected an Oldsmobile Vista Crusier the last time he was allowed a small car in the supermarket.
No idea where that one might be.

it would be a shame if it made it this far and then got scrapped. It rolled on slotmags. When I see a car unlicenced like that "scrapped" comes to mind

Those have gotten very rare, it would be a shame for one to last over 40 years and die

Guessing its not been registered as scrapped as the tax liability date is at the start of the month, if you notify scrapping then the liability ends at that date i.e whenever you sent it in which is usually an odd date

If it belongs to a film company vehicle supplier it might still be around, my ex's mk1 escort had been un registered for 12 years when we got it, DVLA had to check the number had not been reissued when i went to tax it. They had LOADS of stuff in the yard when i collected the Escort.

I remember it being on eBay about a year after the film came out. I was tempted at the time but had no money and it looked a bit rough. Mind you it looks a bit rough in the film. Mind you, that's the point. He's a failed country & western singer living in the end of Nottingham, he's going to be driving a rough old yank tank. I thought it was a gonner when the Sierra ripped the door off it (you can see the door on the Sierra bonnet in the still shot above) but that must have been camera trickery as when I saw it on eBay all doors were on and OK looking. I bet its well full of plod though. I'd lay odds the red paint is to cover a filler-fest. And its looking more like a '69 or '70 model to me, must have been imported used in '72 Do want.

think the door wasnt a door. Look at the pic, theres no latch, No mirror, Or bracket for one, and the trim looks thicker than the trim on the car.
Probably just a few bits of metal welded together to make a fake one.

the interior shot when it is hit, its a door for sure, its got interior trim and all sorts. Although it could be the door off another car? Who knows.
