Hi Really like this project. I have a p100 myself and have got some slotmags for it.just wanted to know what size and width are the wellers you have. I have just bought 15x7 5x120 slotmags and am wondering will they be to wide on the front and back. I don't mind them sticking out just worried about mushing the front arches one I go over a bump.

I figured 3 years with only 1 wash merited a tidey up so i painted it! (i hate washing cars), that and i'd had the paint in the shed for abot 9 months this satin paint fades a fair bit Bashed the tailgate out a bit before i painted it. Then i went round, and painted the black bit black cos i'm a sloppey roller painter (dam PB eaten those ones, i'll get some tomorrow )

After the recent sale of the GLS i was using and hating the wifes escort i decided to MOT the truck (been of fthe road for 2 months whilst a sorted the Mk6 fiesta i got given and then drove the GLS after the MIL "claimed" the festa , i knew it would fail as the back box fell off a few months back and a brake light was out, so in i trots to the MOT station and it passed ! WTF, well apparently if there's no box there it cant fail on being loose or insecure and as long as whats left isn't leaking it can't fail, BONUS , stop light started working after i hit the lamp so another year on the road being abused I love trucky

I saw that cheers i did look into it but i want to keep a live rear end for weight capacity and matching a live axle diff and normal sierra front diff is the hard part, i know there are a few converted ones in SA (mainly cortina shaped ones) i'd love to lift it and 4X4 it

Cheers chap it been london to swansea 3 times since crimbo carrying all sorts (fencing/deorating at the MILs house), not missed a beat, i should stop and get some decent pics in the vallys but it's allways dark or foggy when i travell Only update is i bought 2 new front tyres in an effort to not fall off a welsh mountainside in the wet, worked out fine I did clump 3 sheep, one i fired off a mountain pass like a furry whitish cannon ball, lucky for me i had the sheep/bull/roo bar on the front, unlucky for the sheep somewhere in the Rhonda vally there's a sheep pizza at the bottom the other 2 ran off after a short bounce down the road

Yesterday the truck reminded my why i chose to buid it in this spec in the first place, 60 miles from home amd there's this droning coming through the gearstick, hmmmm thinks i, maybe the gearbox oil has exited via some orafice or other, i stop and jack it up and try to add gear oil but it's already full so i start the engine and have a gander, nowt, noise gone ?? jump back in and trundle off down the A1 wondering what's up, the noise comes and goes but is getting worse every time it appears, gets worse with revs not road speed but every time i get out to look under the bonnet the noise goes (Grrr) 40 miles to home and the noise appeard really loud and grumbly and then it stops and the ign light pops up (curse word), a quick check and the alt has seized ! burnt through the drive belt which has taken out the W/P belt (double curse word), i only carry 1 spare belt in me cab and it's a alt belt, fortunatly the belts are only 15mm differant in length so fits both application (i actually carry a 96 clio 1.2 belt as it's inbetween the 2 sizes), so i refit the W/P belt (1 17mm spanner does it, loads of room, takes more time to find the belt in the cab than fit it) and leave the alt, i unplug the dimdip resistor, leave it on side lights so with the dim dip disabled to save on battery drain and just the stopstart solenoid to power i drive it home. This morning it still starts as well and gets me to the workshop to change the alt for one of the spares i have, i love trucky That's why i use a vastly over sized battery (Duracell 096) and simple running gear, there's not many 1 ton pick up out there that can do 50MPG on a run and be fixed easly and cheaply, i know i service many of them for fair peeps (carnies) and the all seem to use L200s and i can change my engine for what they pay for 1 tyre for the flashy 18 alloys they love so much Bless you POS Mk1 in thanks i "may" even change that S/H fuel filter i fitted 4 years ago
