just wondering who on here has taken their car on a dragstrip, and what they ran?! reason i ask is since all the 'fast and furious' films people seem to think a 10 second car is just a diesel corsa with neons on, whereas in reality a ferrari f355 or a dodge viper sit at around the 13s!!! i have ran 2 of my cars at santapod, the first was mostly for a laugh: 'draguar' xj6 3.2 auto stripped of most of its guts, managed a 17.2 ;D then on a more serious note my civic, which was very prepped but still only had a 1.5 non vtec in it, so i was astonished to get a 15.9 even beat a brand new type r and a 2.0 zetec mk3 fiesta, bmw 325 and others!!! wasnt expecting it with the power, but the lack of weight and super-stiff adjustable rear shocks helped... will be taking the rover as soon as i can floor it without something exploding! so what have you guys got and what did you run?

I got a high 15 out of my Mk1 Golf when it was on the road. No pics of the run though... But I did 18 runs in my Kangoo at Bug Jam last year and got a best of 22.89 ;D Stock 1.9 N/A Diesel with 180,000 miles on the clock, and it wasn't the slowest car of the day ;D

I'll take the Jag and Raise you. 2.2 Zafira - 16.9, York Dragway. Full fat only the seats tilted forward for extra aero dynamics Never got the Saxo or 106 down the strip as they were always broke (hence the Zafira doing a run in the first place) I'll be expecting the MR2 to hit around low 14s if not high 13s on semi slick track tires.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

My best time in my old Anglia van,the grey one in the pic, fitted with a 1720 x-flow,was 14.7 at 96mph.Not too shabby if I do say so myself, certainly made a few people ask what was in it.

Ran a high 16 in the Vitesse . Totally standard and got caught napping at the tree. Second run was going a lot quicker until I mashed the gearbox and got left with only 4th gear !

I'm waiting for Andy Frost to pitch in about now, LOL. I'll tell you what the Trans Am runs soonish, its not been to the track yet. Slowest car I ever got a time for was 17.2 @ 72 MPH in a 1986 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. Just thinking the last car I took to the track, and managed to run it, was my purple Lexus which got a best of 15.1 @ about 90 MPH. No action shots but I still have this one, curiously. That was all stock and with stuff in the boot and "Motorway" air in the tyres.

The previous owner of my E55 AMG used to get low 13's in it. When I was selling it a potential buyer wanted some performance info & asked what's the 1/4 mile? told him just over 13 secs and he thought that was slow Been watching way too much fast & furious that bloke!! Haven't a clue with this one? Would love to try it!!

my van ran a 12.59@110 on 7.5 cylinders bogged badly off the line and i let off at the 1000ft as it was getting a bit smokey at the top end could have been much better if the motor held out the piston that had ate itself
