I've always liked odd / unusual / retro cars and have owned literally hundreds of different cars over the last 30 years. Despite the huge variety of stuff I've owned I kept going back to VW's - owned my first at 18 and my last one at 43. I've had 6 beach buggies, about 10 beetles over the years, but VW Transporter vans just seem to do it for me (had 25 Camper Vans!) ;D 2 or 3 years back I got a bit p155ed off with the whole VW 'scene' and have had other stuff as my 'toys' since but the urge to own a VW has never gone so I'm going to give in, sell the current toy (a 2.8i Capri) and go back to VW Bus ownership again. Am I wierd or do the rest of you have a favorite make or model that you just keep going back to? Anyone else think the same way about a particular model? Here's a few of my previous busses so you can maybe see what I mean...... So, if there one model type of car that does it for you - let's see it!!

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

I love my vw's but havnt really had the same car twice until I had two SEAT Leon cupras. I even had the same colour twice. Will probably have another, but only after someone else has changed the clutch and flywheel. I don't lime the £700 bill for that. Saying that though now I have the e36 BMW they really are nice cars so could do with a smaller engined daily!

I seem to buy more of the same marque twice. In my case it tends to be stuff from BL (First was the 'B (still own it), then a Midget, MGB GT, before finally buying the Stag. In terms of the same car, only on a couple of occasions. I wouldn't say it was an addiction though! I bought 2 740s (one was a 2.0i SE, other was a 2.3i GLE), and 2-3 Mondeos (First was a 1.8TD, second (given to me I admit) was a 2.0 LPG Mk3) and the third is a 3.0 Estate as per my signature .

I love my vw's but havnt really had the same car twice until I had two SEAT Leon cupras. I even had the same colour twice. I always buy completely different, eclectic cars, from a Buick Regal to a mk2 Polo to a Fiat Multipla - but for some inexplicable reason I had 3 Seats in a row starting with a 1.6 Leon and ending up in a 225 Cupra R I fancy a diesel one now, would have had one too if it wasnt for the Multipla popping up on ebay at the right price/milage. Weird how we're on a retro forum and we're both addicted to the same relatively uncommon moderns - must be something in the water?

apart from the love of VW's I've also got a Fiat as a daily - a Bravo or Brava - can't remember which as I de-badged it the day I got it ;D, it's the 5 door one - hatchback version of the Marea in the pics above

The leons are great, look better than the golf and a3 they are the same as. Better specification and cheaper to buy. Also pretty quick as well. not allowed to post here but both 2000 models and electric leather interior what more could you need, apart from being poor on fuel. Also had a 130 diesel one which was great as well. Have had two mk2 focus' as well at certain times as well as a mk1!

Ive had 20 Mk2 golfs, absolutely love them! but I'm the same as you got fed up with the VW scene and having dabbled in the Ford scene for quite a while i can honestly say i prefer it in so many ways to the VW scene so I'm back to my fords now!

Had a lack of spare cash recently (soon to change as i start a new job in a month or so) so not had spare money to fund my 'addiction' but i never seem to be without one Volkswagen or another, mostly mk2 golfs and beetles,
prior to that there was a while where i kept buying mk2 fiestas, had 6 at one point, sadly there very thin on the ground here now (those were the days where you could find half decent ones for under 200)

I've had 23 Skodas (mostly Estelles, some Rapids, Favorits and Felicias) 40 BMWs (half E34s, a few too many E32s, E30s, couple of E39s and E28s and 1 of E12,24,36,38) 6 Peugeots (all 106s!) and a smattering of other various makes, 3 minis, 3 rovers, 3 renaults, 2 mitsubishis etc etc that bring it up to 99 total so far.
(The BMWs include many breakers admittedly, but most of them driven a bit first)
