The fake Porsche Are these any good? the engines range from the one in the pic(1600 air cooled VW) All the way up to "proper" Porsche lumps. With any other engine you could possibly think of. Thing is, your going to get right unstuck using a weedy engine in what to all intents and purposes is a Porker Turbo. But using a high powered lump in a fiberglass car would surely make it go like a rocket! I just don't know

I'd say you were better off buying a secondhand 911.

Of course you could buy a Skoda if you wanted something rear engined and even more stylish than a Porker! ;D

Not my thing...Although I am a bit of a closet fan of odd, rare and exotic kit cars...Especially dub-based ones... Check out a friend's site: Price Of His Toys. *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

I have one big problem with kit cars. If you are going to make up some moulds to make a GRP body, you can make it any shape you like. You could make the wildest, coolest looking car on the planet but kit car manufacturers mostly either make copies of an existing car or some dreadful contraption that lokks every bit a kit car. Why don't they actually make something worthwhile?

Theres some good new kit cars that are decent. I guess though the replica thing is there as people like the shape but cant do the price tag. that comment does make buying a covin a bit more pointless, but i'd be keen to check out the car If a RRer did buy some replica. I have always pondered a Sierra Cossie based RS200. But for the hell of it it would be a tricked out custom Lambo countach replica , that wouldnt try to be actually be one.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yeah but I want a 4 storey town house on The Circus in Bath, but I can't afford one. However I don't go and dress my house up as one.. I deal with the cards I've got dealt and do the best with what I've got. Imagine if someone had spent the money they spend on building a kit on the base car they used for parts instead. Replicas ain't cheap to build and some serious work could be done to a Sierra or Cortina for the money spent to build a replica.

See the point there, exactly why i'm keeping my 3 door metal! Got to appreciate that some do want a replica thats why the market is there, the lotus type thing and not to forget the cobra which i reckon is very credible, Smooth glass body and big crazy v8. perfecto, just not my particular style.

I like the buggy, it's an honest kit car.
I find replica kit cars represent pretty much everything I find wrong in society. A car built on the cheap purely to masquerade as a wealthy status symbol. It just says "I don't want the performance, workmanship or engineering of a supercar.. just the attention please."

Jeez though i have only theres no windscreen! "when the wind changes you face will stay like that"!!!! ;D Bug rat is too cool!
