The inlet runners had O ring grooves in them which created a void when I ported them to match the inlet manifold ports. So some chemical metal and a bit more grinding later and we have: I also got a guy at work to drill blind holes and tap them for me leaving the head side of the flange untouched. Runners bolted on: I did also buy some silicone to create a tight seal but the instructions said specifically not to use with fuel so I'll find another sealant to finally bolt the runners on. Bought an accelerator pedal too but it seems awfully big to me? It may be a different story when I can actually offer it up to the body but its almost twice as heavy as the original mini one. I'll just have to lose the weight somewhere else It's a lot beefier so should withstand some heavy right footed action. I might trim it down, depending on what the ratios are like with the ITB's. Got some stainless top arm plates and some more 12pt bolts to go with them. The plates are pretty heavy as well but they were cheaper than their steel equivalents. I bought them to get dimensions from because I'm looking at getting a batch of Ti bits cut but I have no idea what that'll cost so I might end up using them anyway. I also managed to score a lightened flywheel from ebay but that hasn't arrived yet.

Thats the one. I'm a little dubious at that price but from the pictures it looks quite good and was worth the punt.

Not much of an update. Went back to my parents place over xmas eager to get on with some progress but the weather was somewhat curse word. So I dug the doors out and did some lightening. The small holes were to separate the lower half of the window channel from the frame as it was removed to reduce weight further. They were welded up and a new hole was drilled in the right place and swaged to suit. The bottom on the drivers side need a little repair, then they'll be ready for some alloy skins. The edges of the inner frame will be neatened up, then either have some trim added to it, or will have alloy/carbon "cards" if they feel a little flimsy. That's it unfortunately. Currently rebuilding the "rebuilt" radius arms I bought as I'm not happy with them.

Designed some bits and had them laser cut: They look wonky in the photo but thats just the angle. Very light too!

Some very nice fabrication going on here. You're making my attempts look agricultural.

Ahh don't say that! I love the Scimitar. I've wanted one for ages but I must follow the rule: 1 project at a time. At this rate, I'll never own one haha

Great work !!! Will be following this one closely. So does the f17 just bolt up to the swift engine? what clutch and pressure plate are you using?

It's not a straight swap no. Adaptor plates for this have been developed so I bought one as the vauxhall gearboxes are more readily available. I'll be using a vauxhall friction plate with a swift pressure plate. From memory the pressure plate is 190mm and the vauxhall clutches can vary in size a little but they do come in 190mm. I'll eventually be going for something fancy but I haven't looked into it that much yet.

Got a couple of little bits done. I've bought some stuff: Painted the tow hooks I had cut: Also, been dreaming something up. It means going back to rod change but to avoid a bulkhead box I'd cut and shut the linkages. I'll have to trial it first but if worst comes to worst, I'll just bolt the cable shifter back on. Still need to figure out the yoke yet but in my head it should work ok. The gear stick is a little thick but it can always be changed: Next week, I have 2 weeks off work and I'll be back home. Hopefully the weather will be dry at least.

Done some actual work but typically I've left the cable for the camera at home. I have taken 2 photos on my phone to wet your appetites

Ok so far I have: Figured out how to mount the throttle pedal Seam welded, drilled holes in and painted the rear subframe Partially built up the rear subframe (getting the KAD camber brackets to line up was a curse word) Chopped out the rear seat Started to tub the rear arches Made boxes for the roll cage to sit on and started a few other little jobs.
Might start taking more photo's on the phone so that I can upload them.

How I mounted my throttle pedal through the pedal box: I also trimmed the pedal down as it was a lot larger than the brake and clutch pedal. Sprayed it black too. (Still need another collar) Finished tubbing the arches: Cut out the old boot pin mounts and remade them. Much neater now. Bought a FG single skin boolid. My god is it thin and flexy but hey, it's a track car. Got my turrets ready to weld in on one side. Still got the other side to do tomorrow hopefully. Not too bad a job with the seat cut out.

Got one of my doors reskinned today with my Ali skins. Laid a bead of silicone between the mating surfaces. The other needs a repair to the bottom which I'll do if I don't run out of gas

Only very small bits, I'm looking to rent a garage/unit at the tail end of this year with a couple of mates so I can finally move this from my parent house on the other side of the country.
