Oh the alloys were mine already, the original steels tyres were shot, but they came with really cool 10" steel hub caps! Ill get a pic up of them soon I paid £235 for the CBR engines, they came with tons of spares because the bloke i bought it from races bike engines cars It also came with Dyna 2000 engine managment system which costs over £350 new! I think i have got a couple of bargins so far!

The mini pick up is actually a mini Clubman Estate but with fiberglass rear van windows so its more of a Clubvan if that makes sense haha, I havent got a project log for that yet, but the subframe is currently out and I will be modifying it to fit a 1.6 from a Nissan Almera! But keeping on topic, I painted the grill and it looks tons better I may re-do it at somepoint, but I think it looks great and a vast improvment, I'm not building a concours car afterall haha. And the wheel hub covers I was talking about!

Thinking of keeping the car blue but with satin black details, it will be alot lower eventually! What do people think of having a "puss in boots" stencil painted on the back? It will be a "ratlook/patina'ed" sleeper and i think it will give a subtle hint that it may look cute and innocent but really its a beast! haha Found this stencil online www.pumpkinglow.com/images/PDFpatterns/PussInBoots.pdf

Haha, yeah i appologise! I want it to look good, but I'm not that bothered, aslong as it goes alright Hoping to begin removing the body this weekend, I'm expecting lots of rusty rounded or sheared bolts, fun fun fun! If anyone has any tips for removing a reliant body i am all ears

CBR1000F - good strong engine. Yours is a later model so slightly better on the camchain front as well.
What's the back axle ratio on a Kitten?
The reason I ask is that CBR has one of the highest primary ratio gearboxes in any of the big bikes. Add 10" wheels into the equation and unless you are running an exceptionally low ratio back axle, you'll be hitting 76mph @ 10500 rpm (based on a 3.9 axle ratio and 145/70/10 tyre size)

Kitten saloon has a 3.23 diff and if you want to run front discs you will need 12 or13" wheels so around 10-11 mph per 1000 rpm in top with the Cbr so about right .

I beleive it has uprated duplex cam chains and an uprated head so should be stronger and abit more powerfull than standard! I will have to check though as i am not sure if this is the case or not. And yeah i had thought about the gear ratios, but as froggy said after some calculations i don't think it will be too far off! I'm thinking about experimenting with some minifin drum brakes, its meant to be vast improvment over standard drums on a mini so in a reliant thats about 150kg lighter they may be upto the task, but ideally i would like disc brakes, for obvious reasons! haha The original brakes are not to bad actually! I'm just worried about brake fade but the minifins pretty much eliminate that problem, being the same PCD they should fit with a 5mm spacer inside of the brake drum for clearance and to locate them properly, but if anyone has any information it would be helpfull I'm thinking i may mount the engine further back than i had originally planned, then i do not need to modify the prop in anyway. But it will mean i will have to modify the body and inner wings, I'm just unsure as to the situation regarding clearance for the clutch pedal location etc. But ill take some measurements and will find out i guess!

If I was building a cheap bike engined kitten again this is route I Would follow . Stock rear axle with leaf springs mounted under the axle to lower the car 3" A pair of cheap coil overs for the front and remove the shim stack from behind the top wishbone brackets to give a bit of camber as the kitten has a touch of positive from the factory . Two piece prop as a single length will rip the diff case open due to orbiting . Rubber mount the engine I did my first bike engined kitten on 10" wheels and it was the most fun to drive of all the kittens I've built over the years . I used mk3 fiesta calipers and had two 8.4" 10mm thick discs cut from steel and machined a spigot that welded on to the back of the reliant front hub . The disc bolted to the back of the hub just like old escort/ cortina,s . On 165/70/10 it slid around nicely and it meant no alterations to the bodywork . This gives an idea of how far into the footwell the exhaust will intrude . It would be much easier to cut the bulkhead out and move the driver and passenger back a little to make access easier once it's in

I read somewhere that lowering a kitten that way wasnt possible due to the hand brake cables etc? But it would be fantastic if i could! I may know of someone with 2 lowered front mini coilovers for sale so am interested in buying them. What do you mean when you say a 2 peice prop? My current prop is in 2 peices, the main length and another length inside which slides in and out of the main shaft. Obviously with a UJ on each end. The brake set up sounds interesting i may have to have a look when i strip the front down. Thanks so much for the pictures! Gives me a great image of where the engine will end up located from the pictures it doesnt seem to protrude the drivers side much?

A two piece prop usually means two individual pieces held by a centre bearing bolted to the chassis, usually with a third UJ/CV or flexible coupling..

Hmmm I'm going to have to give the prop some thinking then! I suppose a normal bike doesnt put alot of weight or rotating mass on the output shaft and attaching a prop may damage the shaft or put extra stress on the casings etc. I didnt think about that :/ the plan was just to connect the existing prop to the prop adapter, do you advise against this then?
That brake conversion is fantastic! I cant work out how the calliper or disc is mounted though, but it looks tiny haha

The upright has three holes that hold the steering arm and backplate , you make a simple bracket using two of the three holes to meet the fiesta caliper carrier .
Look on YouTube for a Robin with a zx6 engine who didn't believe me about the split prop .

You have to get one made . Get a spare kitten or robin prop so you have two flanged ends and get a prop maker to put a bearing in the middle . If you lower the car as I said you will have a much better prop angle from the bike engine to the rear end . I used fiesta front discs and re drilled them to suit the mini pcd . You need quite a bit of offset on the disc to clear 12" wheels .
I'm sure you have the best intentions but my inbox has messages going back 5 years from six different people who started this type of conversion but disappeared without trace .
