OK, I hope this is the right place for this. This thread is hopefully going to be a running thread, one that keeps up to date with the events (all 6 of them!) and results, and most importantly, photos, of the 2012 UVCC Championship.
I'll try to keep it worth following/bookmarking. I'll also try not to turn it into a whinge thread every time my Austin breaks down...
If I may, then...
Saturday March 31st. 1st event - Spring Trial.
The entrants assemble
(around 30 in all, a few regulars were missing)
and off we go
Working on an Austin is pretty cramped - like so
Quite a few Austins had problems. A couple of the tests were too steep for the low powered cars, never mind the rocks, which might be small normally, but in a 7 were comparable to a small mountain. This one had fuelling problems, as did mine, and another one retired mid-afternoon, not running any more at all.
This one had no problems though
Road wheels back on
And drive your monster home
one day, I'll convince Joe to sell me this...
A rare occasion, one half of the clubs tally of Austin 7 Ulster-bodied sports models competing. Green one on right has just finished a total restoration at great cost, and was beautifully finished, and immaculately turned out - at least before the trial started! The green and red ones on the left are banged up, abused club veterans and have been competing hard for many years with different owners. Blue one is something in the middle.
Please enjoy. I'll post up some results in a day or two when they get emailed out.
