Got this for free, no tax or test..... ....spent circa £300 getting it road worthy and slammed, welded the diff. I rocked it around for 6 months then sold it for £175. Paid £150 for this, tax and test but dead engine.... ......bought a replacement engine for £50, cut the springs some more, fitted council spec 17" wheels, welded diff. Used and abused it for almost 12 months, then sold it to a friend for £500. The car (the last I heard) was still going strong with another owner. Paid £160 for this, tax and test, completely usable... ....drove it until the distributor died 3 month iirc, then weighed it in!

1992 Citroën BX 1.6 petrol. I won it for £1.60 on eBay and it would have been 99p but a bloke I know lobbed a £1.40 bid on it for a laugh! Took a mate with me who had it running in about ten minutes flat and it was driven the 1.5 miles home! It actually topped all the free cars I've had because I had to pay something for the BX!
I've honestly had so many cheap or free cars it defies belief so I'll try and remember some of the really good bargains and post on this thread again later.

In '02 I got given this by a work colleague for free. It was overheating badly and wouldn't run right, but had lots of tax and MOT. I put a waterpump on it and gave it a service and ran it for the next 3 months, then gave it to my dad: In '04 I bought this for £67 off ebay with a month's T&T. I smoked it for a month and sold it on for £50. I bought this in '06 for £300 with full tax and test, it did 15k and passed 2 MOT's only needing a wheel bearing, I sold it to the postman for £450.

some of you lot are so bloody lucky with your free cars ;D. best we've had was a 1996 escort for £150 with 8 months mot. only needed a rear wheel bearing and drove perfect until we sold it a few months later (was only a stop gap) for £275 then the sunny for £200 with 6 months mot. never had anything less than that though

I thought I did well with my current daily, but some of your bargins make mine look expensive! £400 quid bought me my T and T Vectra Estate: It now has a different front end and wheels, plus half leather seats fitted. Its been used to help the rebuild of our house by transporting stuff to the tip and from B and Q. It has well and truley paid for itself I also bought this for 300 quid: Nice little astra with 60k on the clock. My first car was a bargin at £200 quid, That was until the engine expired 200 yards from buying it I think I went through 3 more engines after that

I woke up once to discover that a drunken bid on a Jetta GTI has secured it for me for £72.48 (few years ago now)
Picked it up, bit rough but served its purpose for 6 months! (probably about 8 years ago?)

Bought this for £120 Loved this car, sadly £10 a day in fuel for my commute and the constant scraping made it very impractical. Sold it for £240 though.
