next step is the matter of these fella's: spacing them to match the head..... choke linkage throttle levers carbon trumpets and finally: [/quote] fitted: running..... that pretty much brings us up to date, doesn't run entirely great, going to get it set up next week once i've got a few things sorted out, springs on the throttle linkage etc throwing all that up makes me realise how much i've actually done to it ;D

Sweet.
I can't imagine going to live back in a city whilst being a car nut, must be a nightmare!
Btw, background to pictures look weirdly identical to where i used to live in Stockwell, just as a side note.

Wow thats a right nice Mk1 you have there! I am looking forward to following this thread your mk2 Escort and MX5 threads were really great. Are those carbon trumpets the ones for the Escort?

Are those carbon trumpets the ones for the Escort? yeah but no ;D the ending note on that part of the escort thread (i still have it, it's in wales and i will finish it one day) was that i made them too wide, so i'm going to get a bit more creative and make a new set. turns out they fitted perfectly onto these. anyway, i let the car run for a while and my modified fuel T-Peice really wasn't up to the task, felt a bit damp underneath carb #2 with fuel, and as it scares the living curse word out of me i've employed the services of my friend with a lathe to make me some replica's of the originals, albeit slightly wider..... (super simple cad drawing to show him what i wanted....)
