I'm toying with the idea of purchasing something old , if i was to import something after the nov rule for pre 1960s mot , would it just be a matter of registering it ?
reason I'm asking..my parking isnt strictly off road , would make life alot easier if i could tax it and be "legal "
i have no intentions of running around in any suspect badly repaired cars before i get told off

the original info on pre 1960 MOT exempt only applied if it had a current MOT (so that cars weren't dragged from fields and started to be used straight away), so can't see it being any different for a fresh import.
MOT, then register, then MOT exempt

Mot before first registration, plate transfer or taxing if it has been unlicensed as I read it a couple of days ago.
