I'm using 33"/285/75/16 on 8x16 Modulars, 30mm spacers, wide arches and a 2" lift...still flex's Mines a bit of a showpony though, got all the gear but only see's a few gentle lanes...goes well on the road though, hybrid T28, big FMIC, decat, single box exhaust, boost/pump mods... Sounds great, my attitude towards mine is pretty much the same, it's a showboat/chelsea tractor, mine has only seen farm tracks, when I eventually sell it, if the new owner wants to offroad it that's fine, at least it's capable. Hybrid Turbo sounds good , I already have a big intercooler (Allysport I think ?), straight through de-cat pipe etc, motor is healthy too so a bigger Turbo would be a good upgrade. Allisport is the one, I have both the turbo and 'cooler from them. Turbo certainly makes the difference, it flies for such a big boat on wheels...its funny chasing the Saxo boys round with lights blazing Is yours running standard fuel and boost settings? Its very easy to turn up and home tune...

Look's and sounds great, three door too , no sunroofs ? Is yours running standard fuel and boost settings? Its very easy to turn up and home tune... Not sure about the fuel or boost, original builder used garages for everything, he spent an absolute fortune, nothing in the invoices about tuning the pump though maybe that would have been done FOC when the cooler was installed ? It goes pretty well though

Yeah 3door, twin non leaking sunroofs! Theres a way of telling if things have been adjusted, think on the pump there will be a plastic cap missing that has to be taken off to adjust it...i've never driven a standard one Need to stop messing around with Vauxhalls and do some bits to the Disco, it hasnt been on the road on over a year now and i'm starting to miss it

Small update on this, had some fun with it last weekend Looking at these pics I've just realised what a joke those rear mud flaps are , those will be coming off in the next week or so, no great loss Then spent ages pressurewashing the underside, god knows what I'd be like if I got it REALLY dirty Got the gear gaiters fixed, standard ones would no longer work due to the 3" body lift, this turned out to be a bit of a ball ache taking several attempts, could'nt find an off the shelf/universal gaitor big enough. Glued some triangle sections of vinyl together with Evo stick (fixed to a 1mm metal plate to fit the top of the console) but the gaiter burst open with the stick movement, eventual solution was a bit of metal pipe slipped over the gearstick and the gaiter fixed to that (the metal pipe allowing the gaiter to move up and down the stick as it's used) also re-enforced the seams with Araldite, not the neatest job but it's holding and far better than gaping big holes in the console. Also made some alloy tread plate floor mats, had to bolt these down to stop them drumming like a biscuit tin but used a single 13mm bolt so they take a minute to remove. Fitted some long metal braided flexy hoses, also remade all brake pipes (all been cleaned since the pic of course Also fitted a new wide angle front prop when the original one packed up on the way to work, got me home ok but was vibrating like hell, both U/J's and slip joint were badly worn, the wide angle one will allow more lift (with the addition of a wide angle prop on the rear). More exciting than all this though is a set of 10x16 Modulars that arrived the other day, along with a set of wheel arch extensions, the Modulars are black but will re-do them silver, would make sense to get them powdercoated but I may be painting them, will update with the fitting of these in the next few weeks

Did you raise the front bumper too? The chopped front looks good!
What boots are you gonna run on the 10's?

Did you raise the front bumper too? The chopped front looks good! What boots are you gonna run on the 10's? Na, left the bumper standard on it's mounts, did'nt think it'd be worth the hassle raising it (or the rear one), may have a go at making a tubular bumper in the future though. Going to transfer over the 33's I have on it at the moment, the current wheels are 7x16, too narrow for a 285 section tyre, the 10" wide rims will let them fill out a bit Found a local powder coating company so may get them to do the new wheels, they have a nice bright orange i quite fancy

I have a Scorpion Racing winch bumper on mine thats coming off soon if you fancy it... I'm going to lift a standard bumper to fit once Ive got the 300tdi head lights in. At the rear I'm thinking of chopping off the protruding carbunkle and welding on a Defender cross member. We'll see! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......33's!

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH, I'd love a winch bumper but i've just sworn i'm not spending any more money on it this year (besides servicing), i'll ask anyway, how much would you be asking for it ? Any pics of your Disco or do you have a thread for it ? I'm actually wishing i'd gone for 35's now, was put off them after reading about the need to uprate the diffs and transfer box etc but have since found out these would have been fine for the use my Disco see's (35's are even fine offroad if you take it easy), could have easily ran 35's with the amount of lift i'll eventually have (will be going another 2" with spring spacer plates)

If you decide to upgrade to 35's, I'd be interested in the old 33's, maybe some sort of p/ex deal? Will almost certainly be going bigger with the rubber, may not be till next year though, i'll keep you in mind for the 33's, will still have plenty of life left in them with the mileage i do Got some pics of todays shenanigans, had a go at fitting the arches, read this was not a job for the faint hearted as you need to chop the bodywork quite a bit, a real he who dares wins job Front arches were pretty straight forward. About three inches had to come out of the standard arches all round, i can highly recommend Bosch 1mm cutting discs, bought a pack of ten but only used one (and that still has half it's life left) Rear arches were more involved due to the doors, ended up cutting the inner frame of the door, cutting the outer skin about 1" longer................ Then folding the outer over to meet the inner, doors will need fibreglassed then painted before to arch extensions go on. Got to this stage, took about 3.5 hours before running out of time, all the hard (and noisy) work is pretty much done now though, just need to fibreglass the rear doors, paint them then screw the arch extensions on. Wheels to go on, 10x16 Modulars, came black but every set of 4x4 Modulars you see are black (seemingly) so i'm halfway through re-doing these bright orange

Looking good! A friend of mine is running a lifted Disco on 37's, they rub and tear on everything, it's either body lift or go down to 35's next, or both! The trimming required to fit the tyres under the arches looks quite aggressive on his. The orange rims look good, almost every Disco that gets modded now goes on black modulars, I went old school and fitted a set of white 8-spokes to mine

Nice bright wheels! :-)
Are you gonna lose the side mouldings?
I cut my rear wings under the moulding - looks good and gets rid of a rot spot.

Know what you mean about the trimming, seen one the other day (Youtube clip i think ?) the arches had been trimmed up to the rear door handles , i tried to take as little as possible out the rear doors.

Was going to keep the side mouldings, just need to trim the short bits for the wings after the arches go on, will need to stick them on with Sikaflex or something. Thought about loosing the lower rear 1/4's, probably will now, does look good and matches the high front (tried it on the last rotten Disco), will need to fabricate a bracket though to stop the rear 1/4 flapping about.
