1969 Aussie Corolla KE18 2 DR Wagon (Rare in Aust)

Hi Guys and Girls,

First post here.

Just thought I would share some pics of my new ol school ride I bought last week from a guy here in QLD, nice guy.
He was pretty emotional about selling the car. And I know why.....I love it!!!

- It's a 1969 2 door Corolla KE18 wagon.

- Engine is a 4K from an KE70.

- Gearbox is also KE70 5 speed.

- Rising Sun roof decal professionally fitted.

- Thermo fan

- Extractors to stock exhaust (quiet)

- Lowered 2" blocks in rear with KE70 top hats in front.

- 13x7 +10 Dragway Wheels with 175/50 tyres.

- SAAS woodgrain steering wheel and gear knob.
(New OMP steering wheel and quick release ordered and fitting soon)

- Temp, tacho and volt gauges.

- H4 semi sealed headlights with mesh covers.

- Bullet style fender mirrors.

- Darkest legal tint all round.

- Re-trimmed interior, not perfect but still damn good looking.
(headliner is original and a bit ratty).

- Original TEQ key!

- Old style roof rack.

- KE35 retractable seatbelts.

Future plans are to upgrade engine to possibly 4AGE 20V, new wheels (14 inch), full respray and suspension upgrade.

PS: Ol school Stickers!!! Would like some suggestions for hot wheels for the KE18 (pics welcome)

I'm a huge Old Corolla fan too...especially wagons. I have a KE70 Wagon and saloon.

May I recommend some SSR Mk2 Rims....I need another pair but over your part of the world they may be easier to get in a manly offset.

Thanks for the comments ADD....yeah I really like the MKII's too. Expensive to buy new though, so I have my ears peeled for a used set atm. Would love some nice dish too.

Nice guess fellas.....certainly is the "Blowhole" at Kiama.

QLD plates still on "George", that's the name the previous owner gave it, so I'll run with it. Changing rego to NSW soon.

The car is originally from NSW somewhere as it has an old NRMA sticker from the 70's on the front windscreen.

Never been a fan of wood finish steering wheels so have bought a OMP old school style steerer and a Sparco quick release in black and red.

New deliveries today......





Drove to Sydney today to buy a cut and polish kit.........want to get the paint back to awesome for a car show/meet in Sydney in about 4 weeks. So I'll be spending about 12hrs sometime soon.....Cutting, sealing, washing, polishing and waxing. Not looking forward to the job, but keen to see the result.

$350AUD well spent.....lets hope.

Got my centre caps (Domes) for the Dragway wheels and decided to remove all wheels and give them a good polish with Autosol. Vast improvement. The dull centre of the wheels are all bling now and the domes finish the Dragway look off nicely. Worth the effort of polishing properly. "Fuel for Charity" car meet on this weekend in Sydney......so time to clean and polish.

Awesome looking car, have an old guy perhaps in his 80's with 3 of these a ute sedan and an estate,will he sell one no chance,all 3 are that grey non-colour colour.whilst I was living in NSW bought a 72 celica cost me 2 trailer loads of manure,sold it though for a Peter Brock Commodore

Thanks guys, yes "George" sure is rare. Paint isn't perfect, but he looks good all cleaned up as he was on Sunday for the Charity Show in Sydney.
