Arghhhhhhh my thread...
Ok so again here is my project that l found sat in a barn in Suffolk where it had been laid up for 7 or more years..
After much ridicule from my cousin about buying an old Skoda we dragged her out of the barn and onto a trailer for the long slow journey back up North and home, once home l stored her in a friends garage until l could start work when we moved in to our new house..
At last l got it back in to my own garage and started stripping her down, lve been pleasantly surprised with the condition of the body work and underneath the old owner ( it shows only 1 owner on the new logbook) had obviously taken good care and had covered the entire underneath with a good quality under seal which has done its job brilliantly and protected it & is now showing to be a bloody nightmare to get off haha
There are patches that will need some welding the worst of these are one sill and a bit of outer edge floor and the tops of both inner wings but thankfully their is plenty of solid metal around to replace these.
Mechanically l have had her running but not for long as l didnt want to risk anything, the engine is now out along with the rear and front suspension clips, these are going for sand blasting shortly, as for he engine its having a thorough service and thats all maybe replace the clutch.
Anyway l hope you enjoy the pictures, l will try and keep things up to date, and after going to a show today and not seeing another Rapid their it has spurred me on to try and get it completed, aiming for early show season next year..
Engine runs after 7yrs just a bit of fuel and easy start didnt run her long as theres no cooling connected.
