Hi all, some of you may have seen this for sale when it was on different wheels and fully on the deck. Just started work on my newly acquired Merc 560 SEC. The car was so low when I bought that it was near undrivable where I live and had a set of modern wheels with a poor offset, with a design that didn't suit the old girl for my 80's supercar look. No offence meant :-) Collected a set of original Avez A 8 x 17 fronts and 10 x 17 rears. I still have to get the rims polished but they are in fantastic condition. Thanks to David at German Rims for his help with these. Spent today getting the ride height right and I think we have hit the nail on the head this! Loads still to do, considering a wide body conversion or Lorinser body kit Hope you all like it

Ride hight is good wheels are wrong and please don't mess with those sexual lines by gluing plastic all over it!!!

I think the wheels and stance are perfect! I'd be well proud to roll in that I'm less convinced by the idea of a Lorinser kit though, they've a bit of ironic appeal but the look it has now is great.

I have been playing with a few ideas in my head on styles. Not sure yet if I am staying clean line or all out 80's drastic plastic toned down a little.
Ride height took awhile to get right but I think it perfect now and I really loved the classic Avez A looks, almost went for pentas but my brother has them on his one.
Thanks Sam, I am very happy so far

Ooof! Like these a lot! Personally, I'd like a bit more 'meat' on the rims - some higher profile tyres, but yeah, lovely car!

Thanks for all the great comments. As I said I have only owned this car a few months and spent most of that time working away, so still loads of little touches to complete.
Misterbob, strange you should say that about tyres, they came with them. The fronts are a 40 profile and rears are a 35 profile, I am going to go up to a 45 which will make the rolling radius correct and give abit more tyre.
Love the SEC's, took awhile to find a 560 for he right money, sports exhaust next.

I think 50 would be to much.
Talking of colours, it may one day go to dark grey. Though I have found another one that has a kit already on so trying to figure out if I can afford to keep this as is and get a body kitted one.

This looks so much better at this height, new rims suit it perfectly, was looking at this when it was for sale. Please don't kit it up.

[...]if I can afford to keep this as is and get a body kitted one. really nice car and proper retrorides attitude ! Lol, it's a disease that I have been inflicted with for years! I saw the potential immediately in this car when it was for sale, cheap for a 560. Ok, it's not perfect but I will be addressing any issues as I go and the first was the ride height which was ridiculously low, making it unuseable and look abit daft. No offence, just not for me. The wheels were far to modern and the offset was entirely wrong for this car, I was originally going to go for Penta alloys, which I loved on my previous SEC, then I found these Avez A and thought they would work well. Was nervous about the choice until they went on the the suspension came down. That was when I realised it was right, well for me. I am getting the feeling I should leave her as a clean line coupe and just spend the time making it immaculate?

Oh yes! Slightly taller tyre and leave it at that. A black SEC is on my dream car list.
