Nice! That colour is pretty rare on those and ruddy good looking. Looks like you've got a fair bit of work to do there but it will be well worth it...

been a while since I updated this but money has been very tight
anyway I have decided to make this orion something totally different so there will be some dramatic changes to the bodywork but for now I will show you all what rear lights I will be using, I know its not everyone's cup of tea but its what I like and want

Quick update RUSTY is going to join the rest of the old ford in car heaven after removing the front and rear screens I found yet more rust and as I don't have a workshop with power I have no way of sorting it so it has spent 6 months in my workshop getting worse is I have decided to replace it with an orion that was on ebay that went unsold and after 2 weeks talking with the owner of the orion I now have a wide arch orion some of you may have seen it on ebay here is a pic I know its not everyone's cup of tea but I like different and its very different and it does not need any welding at all so with abit of body work it should be sorted and I have all the bits from my old orion I should not have to get too many new parts for it with any luck opinion's greatly welcomed

so here is a very small update on the orion
so I have had her for a few weeks now and I have done a bit of work to her when the car got here it was a state (teach me for buying a car without looking at it first) the first thing I had to do is empty all the scrap the car had been filled with then find all the rust luckily there is not to much the main bit is in the boot floor and the passenger side seat mount.
I then had to remove the bodykit from the doors and refit the my doors from the old car totally rust free then I started to fit the rest of the bodykit
I have replaced all the shocks and springs as the ones it came with were totally shot and I have fitted the interior so I can see if there is any bits missing
anyway here is a pic of what it looked like last week I have done abit more work since I took this pic so more to come soon when I remember to take the camera to the workshop

should look cool in a 90's way when done, just don't add much modern mods to it or it'll mismatch

As much as I like a nice standard Orion, I once tried to persuade my dad to get one, but we ended up with a 2.9 Ghia 4x4 Granada. (Sorry got a bit lost then). I also think we should still see what was popular in the 90's and a cosworth illusion kitted mk4 is just that!
What colour do you have planned? I see two options in my head, a nice subtle black, or full on white with tiger stripes! Each will be equally good in my eyes.
Good update and shame about Rusty, has this one been named?!

Can't understand why the previous owner would have filled it wih scrap! how annoying. Whats happening with the front bumper, is it attached?

the bloke I got it from said he had lots of parts I can have with it but when I got it there was BMW lights 4 different types of wing mirrors and a lot of old card bored boxes amongst other things,
the front bumper is just resting there at the moment there was about an inch of filler where he tried to smooth the whole thing in to one piece so I have to finish the sanding of the bumper took me about a week to clean up all 4 wings
