I built mine from scratch.
You'll need to replace all the bulbs, the coil and the rectifier, the stator plate and the battery.
Your bike will just have a little rectifier diode on with a sleeved red wire that goes to the battery (this converts the current to D.C to charge the battery).
You could probably get away with converting without changing the stator plate and coil , see how it goes. I have a 12 stator if you need one though.

What wire colours do you have coming out of the rectifer? Are you sure it is a rectifier/ regulator and not just a rectifier. Reg/ Rec will run a DC system with a battery, a rectifier will run an AC system without a battery (and only has 2 connections)

one white and one red/white. it is just a silicon rectifier, so does that mean that i can get away with not changing it? obviously i'l still get the new 12v battery, ignition coil and bulbs ect. thanky you for your help by the way
