Nice, about time somebody had a play about with one!
I've got a diesel estate on 30/40 lowering springs, used to have mk5 Golf 16" steels fitted. Underrated cars, not without their problems but most of the common fixes are well detailed.

As for BMW diesel ones solving the head gasket issue, yes, at the cost of adding numerous other issues - that engine is a lemon. Petrol all the way and do preventative fix. Eh? Apart from the fuel pump and the crankcase filter which isn't mentioned in ANY manuals anywhere, the BMW lump is pretty good and once kicked into life with a 160Bhp map, quite rapid!

Rover Metro - The TARDIS - brake problems.....Stored Rover 75 - Barge MGZTT Cdti 160+ - Winter Hack and Audi botherer... MGF - The Golden Shot...Stored Project Minion........ Can you see the theme?

Now that is perfect! An estate, V6 and low, ticks all the boxes for me. Great work.

I clicked on your thread because my parents have an auto diesel saloon that I had the extreme pleasure of driving around France (the french one) a couple of years ago. What a superb car, genuinely a Rover. Now you've gone and done that to one. Thank goodness for that! What a great looking car.

Don't forget the pricey clutch slave cylinder issues and MAF issues. they're a pain. And the cranks that snap in two. And the ECUs that lose their coding at random. And the tensioner issues. Injectors that fail and/or seize into the head. Crank pulleys that disintegrate. Turbos that do things that turbos shouldn't, constant flywheel failures, injector pumps leaking/failing; I mean really, I'm just getting started here. 20d engines are RUBBISH.

Nice Rover! I've liked these (and had impure thought about them) ever since I had to drive one daily at work. Was a V6 auto with all the trimmings, really nice car actually.
On an unrelated note, why is there a Honda here?
Can we have moar 75 please?

because I was stating that I've seen it on Facebook, and as mine is rover214/Honda concerto (I'm a rover type of guy) I would post my car, as then he will recognise it as we go on the same pages...
but please more 75 pictures please, making me miss my old 800, got to love a big rover

Go on then, obligatory petrol station shot full size here i.imgur.com/YzJ1kwW.jpgneeds to go down a touch at the front but unfortunately, after 122'600 miles, my gearbox is on it's last legs so driveability comes before cool I'm afraid!

so yours was built at longbridge alongside the rover 200's under the same roof? and it was more of the fact we both post on the same facebook pages, he might have recognised it, put a name to a car
..so, stand down young warrior, you can rest your fingers for a more gallant battle
