Hi guys, A distant relative of my mom passed away recently and left his estate to his three sisters. They inherited his house and contents. Lurking in the garage is a Hillman Imp and a Bedford Dormobile. Both parked up in there in the 80s and not moved since. Aparently they were started every so often, just never driven (apparently he was a hoarder and wouldn't sell/get rid of anything). I'm heading to the house this week as my mom mentioned to the eldest sister that I'm into classic cars and would help sell them. I'd have the Imp in a heartbeat if I had the money, alas, I don't. I'm not sure on what they are worth (or even the condition yet) but would like a base figure to say to them. I shall get some picture up too If there is an initial interest too, let me know

Might well be interested in the Imp depending on age, model and condition. It's a long while since I had one.

My parents went there today to have a look. I was unable to go unfortunatly, but might go there during the week still. My dad took the photos and they aren't the best and he isn't the most retro enthusiastic person, so his verdict was 'call the scrapman and take the money" but from the photos they both look pretty good. Can anyone identify the type of Imp too? No idea myself. The Imp is a '75 N reg, 61k on the clock and is brown. Has keys and V5. The Beford (not sure of the exact model but I'd guess at a CA) is a '68 G reg, couldn't get a mileage and is yellow. Has keys and V5 too. So, the photos. Imp: Bedford: Might well be interested in the Imp depending on age, model and condition. It's a long while since I had one. No problem. Any ideas on the model from the photos?

It's too young for my taste - I'd be looking for an earlier one, mark 1 or 2 with the binnacle rather than the later dash. Don't know if it's a super or a deluxe. The CA looks interesting. As you say, your parents don't take a good photo. Looks like someone gave a camera to a three year old (albeit a tall one)

From the pics, you can see that the screen surround and bottom of the driver's door is solid on the imp, likewise that wheel arch on the Bedford looks good. If they were total rot boxes fit only for spares I would think it unlikely this would be the case, however the work required to resurrect both would mean you shouldn't be asking much more than scrap money, especially as parts plus a good respray alone will come to near their current value in good condition - you have to assume that the engine and clutch / brake hydraulics are seized and every rubber component will need replacing, as well as some welding needed as both vehicles were as rust-prone as any other of their era. I would think £250 for the Imp and £350 for the Bedford would be a fair price starting point if I'm more or less correct in my assessment, rising a little if you can get either of them running (or at least get the engines turning after tipping some oil down the spark plug holes to lubricate the rings / bores)

Hi I would be interested in the Bedford can you let me know if and when you decide to sell, I have been searching for one for quite some time. I am in Northamptonshire and my contact no is 07855632448 and would be willing to view as and when. I look forward t hearing from you.

i would say them prices are a bit on the low side but if you would sell them for that I would take both off you no problems without even looking at them for them prices
