Well, I think I've decided I quite fancy an Audi urS6 Avant.
Been tempted before, and they popped into my head again recently!!
Most I've seen recently have sold for £1-1.5k, so if I can find a reasonable one for that sort of figure I will be happy. Still need to sell my 944S though, same old thing there, lots of timewasters!!

Good choice on the urs6 ,the C4 is probably the best built car of the 90s(if not ever) in my opinion.Had loads of them.Once chipped they are a formidable weapon, will blitz 95% of other cars in a straight line,I can do that for you cheap if you get one.
I've just bought another in the last week and I'm also breaking one.
I might know of a nogaro blue automatic forsale if of interest to you,not sure on price at moment

Cheers James - I did wonder how well built the audi's of that era were as I've never owned one. I was very pleased with the build quality of both my Volvo 850's, so if a C4 is as good or better, I will be chuffed. I'm not that keen on the auto, ordinarilly I would be, but have been told the auto is a lot more lethargic, but also terrible on juice - mid/high teens? I'd want mid 20's really. I do like Noggy blue though - although it seems to be a marmite colour! Although if price was right I could do a manual swap I guess if it's fairly straightforward? Fancy a deal against a nice 944, lol?

yes you will defo get more out of a manual mpg wise but thats the same with all cars I suppose
Manuals will do mid 20s easy on a run, some reckon on high 20s
Manual swap is straightforward aslong as you have all the bits (I have everything apart from the gearbox on this one I am breaking), a tiny bit of trickery on the safety lockout is all that is needed apart from the obvious hours spent swapping the big bits over.
I was just about to mention s2forum but I see you have found it lol

Might I suggest what I tootle about in, a Citroen Xantia estate Pros: Very good rust proofing (and not just for a Citroen) Many run on vegetable oil All have a turbo which can be tweaked for more power Comfortable BAGS of space for passengers and any amount of stuff. I've managed to put a full cooker in the boot with all the seats up, and more recently a washing machine, a rear axle, several bumpers, 5 14" wheels with tyres, several boot lids and some other bits and bobs in with the rear seats down without losing any travel on the front seats. Incredible cornering ability Pot holes are no longer an issue, neither are speed bumps Top spec came with leather All had air conditioning and power assisted everything as standard Car goes up, car goes down, car goes up... It's just like driving a modern car. Cons: It's a Citroen, so you'll get an electrical gremlin at some point Going to be a while before it's worth a significant amount of cash Insurance can be expensive Not many estates out there for sale It's just like driving a modern car.
