Google search for a local windscreen replacement company. £100 for a stone chip repair is extortionate. When I stopped trading in 2012 I was doing them for £45 + vat.

Bit of selotape over impact area for now to stop any dirt/moisture getting in.

If it's not an mot fail I wouldn't worry about it, they will only repair chips of less than 10mm anyway. Contrary to the popular adverts I've never had a screen crack after it's been frosty out or after hitting a pot hole.

If chip is in the area of heater blower they tend to crack on cold mornings once heater gets warm. I've replaced many screens for this reason & even watched it happen to my own van windscreen. "Officially" the size of damage permitted to be repaired depends on where it is on screen but I've seen & done all sorts in my time.
