Quick comparison from 25th December > 25th January Roof rack off, all stickers off, banded steels off, ATS Classics on, rear trim on. Pictures not identical but you get the idea I'm also a bit overdue another trip to Volvo hell, hopefully they've still got the 1.7t I had my eye on laying around.

Much to my surprise today I posted this: And got this comment: Of course I applied straight away, but isn't Players for all the mega-cool perfectly stanced show n shine cars?

...isn't Players for all the mega-cool perfectly stanced show n shine cars? Scratch that, just remembered the ED7 was on display there last year. 5-wise, I took it out for a play in the snow today, very fun..

Today consisted of getting this thing ready for a buyer to come and view. Got it started for the first time in a few months, took it for a drive Then after a lengthy discussion, a few thousand quid later.. Sad times but it's gone to a good home. Then headed off to Matt's after finding an old Bozo exhaust I had laying around. If it was a little smaller I'd use it to make a side-exit for the 5. Grainy picture of the 5 and the Sunny sporting its new coilovers.. Then came back to shuffle all the cars around now there's more space, but a sad empty corner where the Escort was

So after seeing the sidey (and hearing it) on Mark's 5 I've always wanted one, mocked this up quickly but it might be a bit overkill? not sure

So now the Classics are off I needed a change of wheels.. Put the banded steels back on then quickly remembered why they were so bad. So I put the regular steels back on it. Looks curse word sadly so I might put some tires on the Wellers (same size as ats classics) and use those.

Your 5 looks very good! I saw that ATS are 13x7, but which offset? They fit perfectly! I'm also have a 5 but it is more doors

The sidey looks nice and subtle. Do you have straight through now, or do you still have the cat? Also its gonna scrape on everything.

Not really an update, but the biggest problem I have with this car is that it's lower at the front than at the back.. The torsion bar was seized when I got it and I tried everything to get it undone but nothing worked. In the end Beanie Sport did it, but they didn't drop it enough, leaving it 2 inches too high at the back. Was too polite to complain and I knew I'd be charged to have it done again so I just left it Still haven't tracked down a single ATS Classic to replace the broken one and I can't afford a brand new one so in the mean time it's just been run on steels. The tires on the Classics are 55 profile and the tires on the steels are 70, so tried them on the back to see if it would level it out a bit. Tried with banded steels too, the difference in style wouldn't be too bad if I paint the lip silver.. Painted the (1950's?) Valor can too, it was always blue and rust so I sanded it down to bare metal and painted it in the only colour I had that wasn't black. If anyone knows of anyone in the Bedfordshire area that could tackle the torsion bar let me know, I've tried many a time but it just doesn't budge. It drives me mad because it just needs setting at the right height once and then I can leave it on the regular steels and it'll be finished and then I can not care about it anymore.

How can the torsion bar still be seized, once its been out it should be fine after that for another 20 years or so. Bring it to mine one day and ill have a go at it.

I didn't mean still seized haha, I should have phrased that better. It's just really tight and reluctant to budge. Might give it another go tomorrow, may have half-assed it a bit last time Finally found coilovers too, so it'd be good to get it all sorted by then

Ill try to find some time to do it. Its pretty easy though tbh, have you got a slide hammer or a puller or even the bolt, socket and washer method?

Bolt socket and washer method is always how I've done it, used a slide hammer on the white one but it's buried among a load of junk in the shed. I'll fish it out when I give it a go tomorrow
