Hi guys i'm new to RR so i thought i would share my first car. Before i started driving i wanted an old car as a first car as modern cars just don't have enough character for me. I wanted a classic mini but i couldn't afford a decent one so i looked at other choices and thought a Mk1/Mk2 fiesta would be a good idea. After looking at a couple i found one that was near to me and at a reasonable price, so i viewed it and got the car the following day. [/a]When i got it as above, There was one cosmetic issue, those wheels! They rubbed on full lock and didn't suit the car so they had to go, although the wheels i replaced them with aren't the most exciting or great looking i think it's better than those 14's. Also the brakes were... interesting in the way it would stop, eventually. But this was resolved with a new set of pads on the front. A new pair of shocks on the rear improved the ride and it was good to go. Bodywork wise it's good for it's age, the nearside sill is starting to go in the middle but i'm getting the bottom half re-sprayed and that sill replaced so that doesn't worry me, but apart from the sill the rest of the bodywork is good even though the bottom half is a bit tired looking. Although it's not the best or most exciting example compared to others on RR it's good enough for me for now. Cheers for your time reading/viewing, Matt (Some of the pictures make the car look like it has miss matched paintwork) Wilton House in August

Tidy car has survived well not bad for 27 years old. The Ghias where always nicely specced.
PS. those steel wheels look miles better the alloys made it look odd.

Not had much time to do much to my mk2, apart from driving to work and back! Got a service kit coming for the carb to give me a little project. But i'm most pleased with my most recent purchase, a brand new front bumper centre section, i haven't seen too many for sale used or new so took the opportunity while it was there. (pics from the ebay advert) More interesting updates to follow when i actually get round to doing bits . Cheers Matt

Just another quick update, Managed to get down to Goodwood a few weeks back which was a nice cold mornings drive, also nice to put some miles on my car considering my insurance cost! Finally got round to booking my car in for a new sill and bottom half re-spray (can't wait! ), also just purchased some pepperpots which i fitted today along with a Ford battery cover. Just a shame my N/S/F coil spring has just broken, still it's due a service anyway so i have a couple of nice little jobs for the weekend. Cheers for looking, Matt

That is bloody lovely. Think I may look for a mk2 fiesta. Go nicely with my mk7.5

Very tidy looking example. My first car was also a Mk2 Fiesta, but with an even smaller engine

Love the look of that :-) reminds me of when I passed my test in the early 90s. Every other "Bouley Basher" (Aberdeen phrase) had one.
