hello,i hope this is the rightish thread for a welder question, but if not sorry!
anyway, i own a clarke 190 turbo mig with gas, worked a treat for a year or so now, but a few weeks ago i had a few niggles, wire would feed out, but gas didnt and there was no arc(this was intermittent). ive checked the earth and there is no issues with this.
inside the welder there is a solenoid/relay (that has a magnet inside that normaly you can hear "engage") that if i mechanically force it to close(ie press it in), will effectively live the torch all the time, and using the trigger it will weld as it should do, on all the power settings and wire speeds.
assuming this part was the issue i bought a new one and replaced it, but i still have the same issue, but the welder now wont work at all (even intermittently) unless i over ride it.
I'm not an expert, but id like to have a go at fixing it myself before i spend hard earned getting someone to fix a 10quid part and charge me 100 for it!
thanks in advance.
