Unfortunately i'm going to have to sell my V8 Capri project due to an impending house move, no money and a Hillman in peices!
The car was a 1.6 originally. I bought it with a 2.0 Pinto fitted after the last owner "restored" it.
His work was curse word so i have un-done everything he did and modified the car to suit the engine, which includes the following:
- New strut tops on both sides
- Repairs around the windscreen on both corners
- Floor repairs
- repairs to the inner wing
- New wing top strips (one still needs attaching)
- Enlarged the gearbox tunnel and made a new cross-member ( all finished and under sealed)
- Modified steering column to suit Rover tubular manifolds (both sides provided)
The engine i have chosen to use in it is a 4.6L Rover V8 (with the 4 bolt mains)
This was rebuilt by the previous owner (story in the build thread attached to this)
I have made a baffled sump to suit the capri, fitted it and filled the engine with oil
Trigger wheel and bracket made to suit a ford VR sensor. I was going to run Megasquirt on it. I will also include the EDIS8 if you want it.
The engine is bolted up to an R380 RWD gearbox and has a new clutch installed along with a new clutch slave cylinder and modified flywheel. The prop has been modified so that it all bolts together as it should. Gearbox has also been filled with fresh oil
As the car stands now, there is work required to get it to the state of a road going vehicle. Both front wings will come with the car but they will want replacing. The bonnet is also there, but has some rust along the front edge and the windscreen is with it (all the glass is intact)
The interior has been put back into the car, but just to store it so nothing is bolted in The car will come with everything needed to make it look like it does in the picture below, but without the front valance as this is knackered and with 4 of the alloy Ford wheels
The work that the car needs to finish it off is as follows:
- 2x front wings
- front valance
- painting
- steering wheel
- wiring/plumbing
I'm asking £1900 just so that i make my money back, but i am open to offers. The car will also need to be trailered away (tea and assistance will be provided when your loading it)
If you have any questions then don't hesitate to get in tough either on here, jweightman@gmail.com or text/call me on o7446868198
