anyone with eps knowledge please help conversion gone bad

Hi all
I need help
i have a corsa b shape combo van and decided to convert from wet pas to eps as i had another car just sitting there with all the bits on it. 
the idea behind this is to free some space up to run a belt driven air compressor in the engine bay.
my problem is after removing the eps from the donor car and wiring it up to my combo van it does nothing,
the ecu doesn't even click.
i basicly wired it to the clocks and added a 50a live and good earth as i believe the clocks out put the necessary speed and rpm signals 

does any one know anything about the eps system and if it works with the diesel rpm signal source 

any help will be massively appreciated.

i really wanted to make this work as it should from factory but its looking more likely i will have to go this route as my rpm signal is 5x that of the petrol and i think its messing the ecu about a treat.
ive now got it turning on and running for 10 seconds or so,so i know the column and ecu are good
my question is does conventional pas give less assistance when at high speed or can i just set that adjustable signal generator to mimic the original pas

I don't think rpm signal had anything to do with the eps, it's speed based isn't it? Certainly when I had my combo van increasing the rpm while stationary had no effect on steering assistance.

Speak to my mate Roger Hicks , Power Steering Solutions 07837 703309 , he knows everything about it,

Corsa EPS is speed sensitive and gives maximum assist at stationary and then grades it down as speed increases and is off at 30 (from what i remember)
Its not tied to the revs

You can just get a speed signal box and set it at one point and leave it, it will then work just like your old power steering did, which is also not speed/rev dependant

Had no problem with mine - even if you're not getting a speed signal, I think they just work on full whatever the speed.
It took about 1/2 and hour to install my wiring, so there may be something wrong with the ECU or wiring.

Might it not want the rpm signal to disable the power assist if the engine is not running? i.e. emulate a hydraulic pump setup. In which case 5x the expected pulses could well be confusing it.

How are you going to disable the compressor pump for when your driving?. It's a good idea in theory you have there but without being able to disable the pump it could all end in disaster.
