Sorry if this is a dumb question but if i bought something with LPG fitted can i just unbolt everything and go without or am i missing something obvious?
i know - it's a 4 litre petrol so LPG would normally be a "good thing" but this is for eventual export and the regs of the destination country won't let it in with LPG. Fuel's so cheap there that they spit on and then outlaw our attempts to reduce our fuel costs in the developed world !

Essentially yes, you will also need to do some wire tracing and basic soldering, filler point and associated holes will also need filling. What kit is it, i might possibly be interested...

If is a multipoint system then it could be easier to change manifold than plugging the holes that will be left by removal of LPG injectors. It all depends on what is fitted but basically - yes it's a simple case of removal of parts. The tank has a valve so you don't have to empty as LPG won't escape

IMO it is simple but you do have to consider a few things:
Regardless of the car type you will have to do the following: -Bridge (with proper joining pieces) or preferably change the coolant hoses that have been cut for the installation so as to keep the vaporiser warm. -Remove the LPG wiring -Possibly deal with the holes left from the installation depending on how well it was done.
If it's a carb car you will need to readdress the fuel feed cut off to the fuel pump or a solenoid that has been put in place (again, dependant on installation)
On an injected car there is more, including: -putting the wiring back on the car's injection system back to the way it was ; there is a good chance that the main injector feed has been tampered with so as to shut the fuel rail down as well as a harness put in place for the injectors to cut them off and to get the injector timings for the LPG.
On a multipoint car you can either put bolts in place of the injector nozzles on the inlet manifold or do a bodgy thing of putting a screw or bolt into each of the injector pipes. Of course they cannot leak otherwise you will end up with a vacuum leak.

To be honest if its just going for export (to Africa?) simply removing the tank would be enough for most places

i did wonder about just removing the tank and sealing everything up
truck will be going to Tobago in the fullness of time - i need to have owned it for a year and it needs to reach it's 25th birthday before the reduction in duties makes the costs of shipping economically viable
