I'l be swapping fuel tanks on my mk2 golf vr6 project, the car has been off the road since November, if there's any fuel left in its tank will it be usable?

petrol just don't last like it used to, just seems to go stale so fast.
To be honest i would change it just to save the hassle

As long as the tank is good the fuel will be fine,
My Monza sits in storage during the winter months, normally around 6 months or longer depending on how behind schedule I am.
never had a problem with stale fuel yet!

As above, it takes longer than 6 months for fuel to be unusable.

Had brown fuel in my Starion that had sat for ten years,
It ran fine in my micra! I think you'll find fuel still retains some combustion properties over time.

Absolutely not, I'll dispose of it for you in an environmentally friendly manner;)
I had one of my bikes started the other weekend using fuel at least 6 years old, it should be fine assuming you aren't running mega high compression ratios
