Lovely looking 944, looks great on the cookie cutters. I have had the twists on both of my 944's, they're not the best looking wheel for a 944 (imo), but they are nice and light. I have a set of late offset 16" tele's waiting to go on my 951 Some good work so far, front end alignment is also on my to do list, as well as sunroof adjustment!! What's coming next??

I don't object to the twists, I just think they are totally the wrong style for a 944. Plus I cant afford to melt through 255s all the time! haha. Teles are another wheel I like, but oddly enough i'm not a fan of D90s. Yup alignment will come in due time for mine. Other stuff taking priority at the moment unfortunately. You must have jynxed the sunroof because I went to use it looking smug with my new seal today and the bloody thing wont go up or down. Relays in the boot are clicking. All the switches are working, but no power to the motor. Think its the sunroof relay thats packed in. Gah! Next is going to be rear brakes at some point, and bleeding them through with new fluid. Possible new suspension over the winter if I can prise the wallet open enough to pay for a decent set of coilovers! Bunch of cosmetic stuff thrown in here and there. Looking at some wider wheels as well. Really want to exploit the rear arches so want something relatively mean and aggressive. Watch this space. - Tackled the front brakes this weekend! Wasn't so much of a difficult job, just time consuming. None of the bolts were seized at all, but everything just needed plenty of persuasion, which just made the job take so much longer. Plus the fact that the hub needs to come off and the disc changed off the car, then the hub put back on. Anyway, everything went back on with a good coat of copper grease. Sits next to the WD in the garage. And the big hammers. Got the girlfriend to paint the hubs, disc centres and callipers while I started on the other side, then finished the first side as she painted the second side. She has much more patience and care than I do, so it actually looks rather good. Pity the cookie cutters pretty much cover them up haha. So it took about 4 hours. I didnt want it to, but I wasn't really rushing it. This seems to be a theme on this car and I like it. Taking it easy. Makes a change. Brakes are 20x better than before however! Feel like I can do stoppies. They come on much further up the pedal and are much firmer. Since putting them on I've definitely not had to use so much force when braking in town etc. Not bad for £100! Febi Bilstein discs and EBC pads too. Also finally finished me alignment tool at work out of a bit of 28mm steel bar. I think it'll do the job just grand if I ever have to do it again

Right. More wheels bought. I wasn't going to but I was window shopping on ebay and couldn't help myself. I'll keep them under wraps at the moment but they will be 15x9 rear and 15x7 front. With a lower offset than that of the cookie cutters (23). Arch filling money burning round things. I love buying wheels.

Cheers! Appreciate it Same here, didn't think it could look much better...I was wrong! Must admit when I put the cookie cutter on I was thinking 'yes, thats it, sorted'. Then I realised that shiny and wide is my new favourite thing haha. Nice to hear other peoples opinions though, I do genuinely appreciate the comments! Tried nitromorsing the one with the painted lip and I might as well have rubbed Strawberry Jam onto it. Did nothing apart from make the paint slightly soft, and give it a nice green skin. I didnt want to blast them originally because it can leave dimples making them hard to repolish the lips. Well I had a look at the grit in our bead blaster at work and its very fine stuff. I had already blasted a motorbike wheel and have it sitting in my toolbox. So at lunch I decided to give it a bit of a polish to see if it would be easy on the Revos. Well... Could shave in that! Couple of different grades then some metal polish and she was gleaming. So safe to say i'll be blasting the wheels first. To be honest its just better because itll give me a good surface to paint onto. Plus theyll all look the same

Nice work! I really like the colour as well. I was looking for one similar colour before I ended up with mine. There's not anything wrong with your foglights at the moment, I think you're missing a relay or something similar. My car did the same when I hooked foglights up.

Knew it was you I followed on instagram the other day! And hmm it's possibility. Might have to find someone with a same spec 944 and compare to make sure I have everything. Started on one wheel just as a test. Decided to blast it in the end because the media in our blaster at work is pretty fine. Paint of choice was my favourite brush on Hammerite affair. I'm too impatient for spray paint and usually end up planting my finger prints everywhere... Plus it cost no monies. I've done old cast wheels with it before and they normal come up pretty nicely after a few coats! Plus if it's dreadful I can mask off the lip and re-blast Don't judge my masking tape that stuff is mad sticky and does the job just as good Also new phone means better photos from now on. Hooray!

Right finally an update! Had the car up for sale for a while but have got my mojo back and I've decided to soldier on. First of all, the weather has gone pear shaped.... I was going to take it off the road and Insure the Peugeot for a couple of months but it would just introduce hassle with insurance, plus it's not really been a whiteout so I think I'll be alright! Then the washers stopped working. Not ideal in the winter. Figured out the previous owner has used hose that was far too small and didn't fit onto the connectors. All the t pieces and hoses were brittle anyway so bought hose and redid the whole system. Much better now! Also removed the heated washer system. 110% this wasn't even doing anything, look at the excellent wiring. Eventually got really hacked off with the poor starting issue. It just didn't have enough power to turn the car over sometimes and I figured it was a lazy starter. Had a proper look at the battery and it was 520A or something which is far too small. Had a spare bosch battery from my mum's boxster in the garage and managed to get it in. 740A and huge! Bigger than the tray so strapped it in. Works a treat and starts almost instantly all the time now! Then put one of these in... And it makes quite a noticeable difference. A bit more power on the top end. Definitely pulls better from low revs in 3Rd and 4th. Worthwhile I'd say. Finally, I bought roundels. Not for any specific reason, I just love roundels. Especially on retros. I love how they look, makes it stand out a bit more than it already did. That's it for now. Decided to sell the revolutions and I would need to do a bit of arch work to fit them. Also figured my money would be best spent on a decent set of tyres which will be soon!

The roundels look much better than I thought they would! FWIW, I fitted Khumo Ecsta's on my 924S and they're well suited to the car.

But I just like the way they look on any old car And yeah ecstas have been in my shortlist, as well as some hankooks. Had v12 evos on my old mx5 and i'd say they are the best tyre i've ever used. It's more about getting the best tyre for the size I want really. Trying to get meaty tyres that also have a decent sidewall is quite difficult!

Little bit of an update on this, seeing as it's still here Basically made a hasty decision to take it off the road after picking up my E34. I got back into the Porsche after a week of BMW and realised how spongey the brakes were. Belts were a bit squeaky in the colder weather too and due to the atrociously windy and cold weather I would have not had time to actually do anything while using it as a daily. It's going to be off the road til March, so i've decided. As thats when the insurance renewal is. So far the list of work to do is this... - New rear discs and pads. Bleed whole system with new fluid. Bought a gunson eezibleed kit for this. Perhaps this is the tool I need to make me able to tolerate brake bleeding. - Gearbox/Transaxle oil change. B&Q were selling the exact oil I needed for £1.50 a litre on clearance. So I bought 8 Bottles. So that should be a big improvement. - All front ARB and hanger bushes, along with making my own ARB stiffener brackets. Surprisingly bought all the bushes from Porsche much cheaper than online. - Both aux belts - Remove gauge cluster, fix odometer, fix lazy speedo and LEDs for the gauge cluster to blind me. - Do the bolt through the shifter mod - Fix bootlid/sunroof situation. I've narrowed this down to a dodgy power wire only supplying 6v instead of 12v to the relay. - Momo steering wheel from a mk1 mx5. I think they are the best feeling wheel i've ever used. Ended up swapping the air filter that came on the 944 for one off a mate, so effectively free! Although £60 for a boss. - Possibly tyres.... Hopefully if most of that gets ticked off then I can do cool stuff. Since it was baltic and I didnt really fancy doing things that involved me lying on the floor, I took the gauge cluster out the dash. This involved me climbing through the hatch with a box of tools, which is a contortion exercise i'd like to keep to a minimum. It was actually pretty easy since just about everything comes off with a philips head screw. But as I suspected, the drive gear that runs on the worm gear had 0/21 teeth, and crumbled away in my fingers. Phoned porsche but the bloke cant find it on the system, and the only new one online in the UK is £40! Might order one from the US as they are much cheaper, and I'm not really in any rush. I suppose this is the benefit of having it off the road. Also, I have to say the halfords car cover I bought is spot on. Bit awkward due to the length and shape of the car so I bought a medium and folded it over on the bonnet and taped it. Since the 15th of Dec we've had hurricane Frank and a heap of really strong wind and it hasn't really moved. It's also dry as a bone underneath too. Noice.

Managed to get a gear from Germany for £20 which is much more to my liking. Bunged that on and gave everything a squirt of electrical cleaner. I removed each dial and cleaned all the connections to hopefully get some better connections for the gauges which occasionally forgot what they were measuring. Also, the main light ducts for the gauges are basically clear pieces of plastic painted chrome. Over time the paint wear away and the dash is just dim. Used some clear glue to stick some tin foil shiny side in. Did the 'stand in a dark cupboard and shine a torch in the hole' test and it does appear pretty bright. Its got 3 new LED bulbs going into it too which will make things a lot nicer, and hopefully not so tanning-studio-esque. I suppose I'll know once I can bung it back into the car! Also before I can fit the new steering wheel, I wanted to get a new set of stalks as I have narrowed my washer motor low power mishap down to the stalks themselves not giving a good connection. I've bought a new stalk module thing from a bloke on here (who I have incidentally bought quite a lot of parts from actually and is a very nice bloke called Pete) but his stalks decals are pretty worn. The units are rivet sealed so using my new fancy dremel I drilled out the rivets and took everything apart. It is VERY fiddly but it'll be worth it to have a clear set of decals right? I finally got my 'free' steering wheel too. Bought a Momo boss, which although expensive, is awfully well made. Plus seeing as it is attaching my steering wheel to the car, which is probably vital in some way, I thought I should probably make sure I get something decent. I bought a plain black horn button too. Bolted it all together for a looky see and it looked too plain so I hacked up one of these 'porsche drivers collection' stickers that I stole from the coffee table in the Porsche Centre when I was waiting for bushes. Looks quite cool but will probably change it later for something a bit more me. And yes, it is leaning up against a big stash of bits for the car. Then! We move onto the ARB. This was interesting. I unbolted it from the car and took it into the garage. Turns out my front ARB is 23mm, instead of standard 20mm. I also have a rear 14mm anti roll bar which means I have Porsche 'sports' suspension. Sounds naff but it means I don't need to buy thicker stuff which I was going to do before I found out! The bushes didnt look too worn on the car but once I took it off it was clear that they were quite shagged and squished. I then found out that the centre bushes were actually for a 20mm ARB. 3mm smaller than they should be, but just rammed on and used. You can see how splayed out they are in the photo. I bought all new bushes from Porsche (which were cheaper than online by the way) and painted everything with my favourite brush on black paint. They look excellent and I just need to make stiffener brackets before I can bolt it back to the car. I'll show the brackets once I make them. Also got time to drain the gearbox oil and change that yesterday. It wasnt nearly as dark as I imagined but new oil wont do it any harm! Next update will most likely be finishing the interior, ARB on, new belts on and possibly a couple of handy DIY mods!

Didn't want to update so soon but felt the need to.... Bought a set of Borbet Cup Ones (that have the early offset so they fit my car) for absolutely peanuts. So much so that I went about refurbing them myself. I'm really rubbish at painting but i've pulled it off somehow... Just a pair of rear tyres and they'll be good to go on

I just don't like the look of the cups and my little retro-mind keeps the Fuchs/Cookies/Steelies sort-of deep-dish-y up front all time for these. Especially because your car has the earlier, non-integrated bumper. Good call on the colour though! Suggests a sporty way of moving this turd.
Why did you even want to sell it? 80ties goodness all over, plus sporty, plus boot!

Why did you even want to sell it? 80ties goodness all over, plus sporty, plus boot! You know what, I'd never liked the look of cups myself. Always preferred cookies over anything. But as much as they suited the car I wanted to change things up a bit and these were much cheapness. Being 7.5j, 9j and 17", Tyres are actually common sizes and I can finally fit more than a 215! Which will help massively must admit they look horrible in silver which is why I painted them gold haha. It's changed my mind on them. I think I put it up for sale because I'd spent that much money that every little thing seemed like the end of the world to me! I think taking it off the road and working on it now has really calmed things down a bit and now that I'm doing some cool changes I'm really glad I kept it
