Wow, you've not been hanging about with this! Hadn't looked in since page 1.
Enjoyed all the progress pics from the painting - keep the updates coming!

slowly pete , went in to day and painted the foot pedal s , then rubbed down the original number plates quite heavey, 4 coats of 2k black , il then sand them with fine paper and take the paint of the letters and polish them up . i also done the inside of the overiders too , spent quite a while trying to get the bonnet to close and open right . no amount of what i done would do it . then colm with fresh eyes spotted the problem , i had the release catch the wrong way round DOH , plus it was catching on the slam panel when coming up , so this was reamed out. now working . then refitted the hockey sticks and front panel and grill, james DARBY cooke came to look it over he is going to wire it for me and pointed out some stuff ,

Looking great! I used to own a 1961 Old English White Minor convertible (registration DSV 972), which required extensive restoration as it was very rusty, particularly at the bottom of the A-posts, when I got it. I drove it for a while, but got fed up with the flapping canvas and scuttle shake, that to be fair, affects most convertibles, even some modern ones, so I sold it to Canterbury Convertibles in the end. T'was a lovely thing for sauntering around country lanes in summer though.

Hard to - I sold it in the early '90s, before the widespread advent of digital cameras, though I do have a couple of 'normal' photos of it in an album. A quick DVLA Vehicle check reveals it hasn't been taxed since March 2002, so maybe it doesn't exist any more.

second that I am trying to put the doors together on ours, the 2Ba screws for the striker etc all needed tapping out, didn't have one so had to wait for that, It seems impossible to put the frame in without taking paint off the glass slot, with the extra weight in they dropped a bit and needed re-adjusting, keep finding various little seals or screws I am missing so far it has taken about 2 weeks and one side is now mostly done.

2 steps forward 20 back you ever get a few days like that . well i ve had them lol . done everything to line up ps door on off on off , then it fitted with a lot of help from friend panel beater colm , ds side one no chance . had 4 different people to look and give advice , they all came to the same conclusion , welding was done with out the door on to check gaps , do it was a case of splice the inner sill and middle sill cutting a 3mm v cut ,then getting 3 people 2 others plus me to get inside to force the car down . haven 4 th person check the gaps , i made a filler piece to go inside the sill . weld up one side then when we had equal gaps or ones that looked better i welded up the other side of the filler piece . then welding inside too . grinding down prime seam seal and paint , making my way round the car to get as many bits on as possible , next was hood frame . first i had the catches on the wrong sides DOH and back to front , so on went the roof one side i ve found the factory missing so have a bolt in for now and it fits and looks good and UGLY

Not much door gap in that, is there!
At least on mine I have the chance to get them sorted while I'm fixing holes, haha. The PS one we got lined up okay, but the DS has had the entire hanger panel removed so will need to be a bit more cautious putting it back in.
Looking good, though! Are you going to stick with the cookie cutter wheels or maybe get some banded so you can have real tyres? ;D

It looks like the whole door needs to be raised a little, looking at the bottom and top edges. Are you sure the window frame isn't pushed towards the front a little as well? They're pretty easy to 'persuade.'
