It took a bit of organising from our part, but we're finally there! Retro Rides Awards (2015)Sunday 31st January - Haynes Motor Museum - About 2pmPlenty of parking, I may see if we can default to using the overflow field at the back of the venue (which was the old Gathering show field). We have a room inside to do the awards. We can offer discount entry to the museum (just working out the logistics of this). If you've not been to Haynes since The Gathering it has been completely renovated and looks awesome. Also it has a great Cafe that is next to the room we have for the awards, so you can grab some food as well. Fingers crossed this works out well for people, it is a weekend, it is a well connected bit of the country, it is ten minutes from my house. www.haynesmotormuseum.com/

I always like the Awards nights at the ACE but on the other hand it will be interesting to see the new Haynes museum.

My dad and I went there a year ago and it really is a fresh looking building inside and out and layout is good and airy. Proper nice place to be. Cafe is expensive and sparsely stocked from memory though, I'd ask them to be ready for an onslaught of many bulky tea drinking men David as I recall I was there about 3pm on a friday or something and they'd ran out of sandwiches... Also there is a really top notch wee roadside cafe motel a few miles away I would recommend to anyone making a trip of it.

Sounds like a good excuse to see just how unreliable the Scimitar is. I might be there.

As a Somerset resident who hasn't managed to make it to the Haynes yet - once I knew it was being refurbished I held off and haven't managed to make it over since it re-opened - this works very well for me.
The Ace nights always looked great but, in reality were never a goer for me.
Looking forward to it.

The response has been great so far, thanks for that everyone Sorry to the folks that have the longer journey. There was no way I could make a weekday evening at The Ace, so I thought I'd see if I could get a Sunday somewhere suitable. I went for Haynes because of our history there, and it is really near my house so I can pop down and talk through with them what we're planning, making sure it is as good as it can be Looks like we'll have a good showing of people, the little facebook event has topped 60 people marked as attending, with another couple of hundred interested!??, if we can actually get sixty people it'll be the biggest awards event we've done. If you can join us for it, that is great, if not I may well record it and stick it out as a video
