Helol,
Just trying to get a rough idea what this gearbox is worth.. I removed it from a 2.0 capri years ago either because it was Ratley or jumping out of gears. Has the bell housing on there but I don't think it has a gear stick. Definitely 5 speed and has been kept in dry storage since removal.
Cheers

The reason I asked, is because I keep seeing these type 9's popping up on ebay in unknown condition and people are getting like 100 to 150 and it blows my mind as they could be scrap. It was only a few weeks ago, someone had 2 for sale that was buried in he's garden that juSt looked like a pile of rust and from what I remember seeing they was at 70... It's why I'm confused on what I should ask or if I should just stick it back into storage. Thanks anyway for the comment

The thing with ebay is , do they actually sell for that or is that what people are asking [ chancing ] for ? I do see good ones going for £300 odd now compared to £100 to £150 years ago .
Its impossible to say what could be wrong with yours ? It may be a £20 or it may need a complete rebuild . Why not have a look yourself? There must be a guide online or video . PPC mag this month has a article on them , that may be some use ?
If you do manage to fix it yourself you will have £250 + sat there .
Good luck

skylinedave it would be good to know if it was a cheap fix and make a bit of money from it.. but as for gearboxes, i've never had one appart and would worry i would damage it more than it's current condition. i think i'll pop it up on ebay and start it from 99p and let it go for what ever it goes for. Atleast with this, someone will know what there getting like what dodgerover said "they're making stupid money" in unknown condition. As they always say... Anythings better than nothing Thanks for the input guys
