Montego Turbo, not the fastest but one of the scariest

Metro gti with a tuned MG ZR 160 VVC engine. Scared the life out of me. Then someone fitted a supercharger to one and another used a 1.8 turbo engine running over 200bhp. Never went in either of those but must have felt silly quick.

Saab 9000 Aero, with a few mods. Didn't drive it, riding shotgun with the owner was more than enough for my sense of self preservation ...

Saab 9-5 2.3 H,O,T AERO with a few abbot racing goodies.

and a series 2 Land Rover that was running a tuned V8 that a friend owned,
not that fast but when you take into account that it was still running the original Leaf springs, drum brakes and the steering box had lots of play in it made for a truly terrifying drive.
still have nightmares!!

vw notchback with a tuned 1776 and lots of go faster parts. not fast but very scary to drive quickly.

MR2 gen II turbo. again, owner tuned and was properly fast for the money.

triumph speed triple 955i. stupid fast and capable for not much folding material. 135-140mph was easy to achieve, 150 possible. Vomit inducing level of scary.

polo g40 woud rank as the scariest car I've driven. curse word handling and moderately quick in std trim, pretty nippy tuned, but ultimately still curse word handling!

A Fiat Uno Turbo tuned to 175bhp driven by a testosterone filled 19 year old from Oxford to Bristol , 90-110 mph for most of it .

Just wrong , plain wrong .

A Toyota Supra 3.0 turbo. Lad who owned it said it was well over 300 bhp and pushing close to 400. I've no idea how true that was but it was a missle. That car is what actually got me really interested in cars, as when I first passed my test, a car was just work transport to keep my bikes nice. It really changed my outlook on cars, and from that day, cars became and interest and a hobby.

205 GTi. God knows what was done to this thing engine wise but there was wiring hanging all over the dash, the steering wheel was off and every time I out my toe down she would torque steer and wheel spin. Didn't help that the drivers seat wasn't bolted down properly so every time I floored it I'd be flown up into the air.

been passenger in a 993 c4s, when my friend bought it it was quite cheap relatively, and it has gone up in value a staggering amount, thouhg not as much as a turbo has, which the c4s shares everything with bar the turbo engine, he's kicking himself as he coukld have bought a turbo instead for a few k more!


old R32 GTS with a hybrid turbo I helped do an engine rebuild on, that felt quite big but you stillfelt a decent shove.


scary? hard to say, probably the first blatt of a mates V6'd 205 on elcheapo lowering springs and base model beam!

Turbo karmann ghia with about 1" of clearance under the front beam.
Stupid fast for such a stupidly low car. Had to REALLY concentrate on the road surface and plan well in advance.

FD3S RX-7 with a few mods made over 400 internet HP. Brutally fast. Nothing else I've owned came close.

My old mk4 golf 4wd r32 with a massive turbo a day lots of other goodies. Was 552bhp .
Racing an r1 down the a50 from Stoke to Derby at very very naughty speeds. Let's just say the bike owner did several double takes when he realised I was still along idea him most of the way.

But strangely enough the area felt more planted at over 140 then it did at 80 or 90.

It did have some massive wide r888 toys and a big rear under defusser

Miss that car still. Sold it before I lost my license or life

My mates brother took me out in there mums 1.5d citroen ax once. Not a quick car at all but he was cornering it so hard you could hear the mudflaps scraping on the floor I don't think I have ever held onto a grab handle so hard!

My mate used to use his mum's whilst he was a uni that did the same. Was proper scary.
