Probably a very simple question about paint.

Hello chaps.

This is probably going to seem like a stupid question, however unfortunately I don't know anyone personally who is experienced in the realms of painting.

I am currently painting some parts with Xylene based paint. Which I have been thinking at just over 10%.

This may sound like an incredibly stupid question, but is it possible to "Pre-Thin" paint in large quantities? As in, could I thin the whole 5L tin in one go and then use as and when?

Only reason I ask this is because it could possibly make things easier, quicker and cleaner when it comes to painting.

Like I say, I have very little experience here, so am very happy to take any sound advice offered by anyone.

Yep won't make any different IMO it'll just need a bigger tin and be thinner.

Excellent! I'll give that a go the! I've probably used just under a litre, so should be able to thin it down with 500ml to achieve my shade over 10%.

I wondered if it would have a negative effect on the paint, or separate, dry, contaminate or something but logically I couldn't see how, but like I say I have little to no relevant experience.

Shouldn't do any of those things, just be sure to give it a good stir up before each use.
