I am smack in the middle of our beautiful country and find most car meets are "old boys" upset by anything not totally original or one make groups. I even belong to some esp, the Irish Ford Escort Owners Club, z7.invisionfree.com/CEOCI/index.php?The exception is RETROSTOCK but its failing more all the time :-( So, I suppose I mean to say, discuss! |

i am from belfast
don't usually bother with club runs ect
as you say it's mostly obsessed old boys trying to get the right wheel nuts for ther car

I'm from Achill Island but live in Devon now,
Back in IRL, the 'backroads.ie' forum is great and there are some excellent cars and coffee meets such as Bray, Limerick, Galway & Cork afaik

I would have been more into the scene back a few years ago goin to every rally and toyota meet that was on. I concentrate more now on building and restoring the cars but still occasionally get to an odd meet. I think the fact that most young fellas over here now are into their diesels with straight thru pipes has kinda soured my interests.

I'm from Laois but have been in Switzerland the past 5 years. Never really into "meets" but was involved in the Trial Drivers Club www.tdcireland.com when I was still there. I also try to take in an event whenever I'm back. A lot of old non-original cars been driven very hard. It's a good atmosphere for competitors and spectators alike. |

Do a few local events through the year and the odd steam really and thats about the height of it.

I'd say you're looking in the wrong places then. There is a very healthy car culture for all types over here, both online and in the real world. Plenty of groups and meets and shows for whatever you're into.
The only one thing missing is exactly the profile of this very forum, but anything that falls within these walls is welcome at most other shows or forums.

Lurgan in the North... Try to attend local meets more than anything just to support those round me, also run a small VW club called Airkool NI, have club meets every 6 weeks on a Friday evening... just an excuse to take the cars out really  |
