since taking the photo below, 1995 FORD ESCORT Si CABRIO by shagracer, on Flickr it has dawned on me how few Escorts (around here anyway) are still road going dailys, i did a quick check on my last few snaps and neither have made it back to the road. 1991 FORD ESCORT LX mkV by shagracer, on Flickr 1995 FORD ESCORT mkVI 1.4 L by shagracer, on Flickr so lets see photos of any Escorts that are still being used or are visible from the street. (no old photos please) this one is still getting regularly used 1985 FORD ESCORT POPULAR ESTATE by shagracer, on Flickr I can only think of one other that i pass on my journey into work, i will try and get a picture of it, but its now dark when i go, and dark by the time i come home.

Ex's, still on the road, a banger racer on my estate has 3 in differing states of build ready to race and the bloke at the end of the road has a 1.8 ghia in the garage but he's in hos at the mo so it's sitting there waiting.

Mine is now back on the road after a slightly protracted (by the intervention of project 'wife & kids') 2.0ltr Zetec conversion. Smiler.

I see this one fairly regularly doing everyday car things. This one too. They're not massively rare up here in the North East, considering their age, and usually in tidy order. Having said that, I've not seen this booted one since August 2014 and checking it on the DVLA sites it looked like it succumbed to rust and wasn't re-Mot'd. No wonder it looked so tidy when I papped it, there was only 55k with the last 3,000 of those being covered over 9 years. The thing must have barely moved.

^^^^^ that is a really nice looking convertable you have there Tankyou, though it is taking full advantage of photo flattery. It does have a few blemishes and it needs a new roof. There is a series 1 RST in the area and I know of another under long-term restoration. I haven't seen any cooking spec Escorts for a long time.

There is still an mk5 van used daily at work. Some welding has been done to it MOT but apart from that it's still going strong.

Saw this thread this morning and thought it has been years since I last noticed a later escort on the road, within an hour, I am behind one in the middle of Kilmarnock, a tidy looking lx which appeared to be undertaking daily driver duties. Ttfn Glenn

Really want another mk5 van, had a blast in mine, although the 1.8 non turbo derv is the slowest thing I have ever driven. Just wish I could weld.

My mk3 Orion... randomly caught fire one day while at work. Liked that car. Not got any pics of my van, saved it from scrap, tidied it up, had over 300k on it but ran like a watch, rot got it in the end.

^^ My mate had a GTI in that colour, had a 2.0 engine after the original engine died through lack of antifreeze, a set of 16" Mondeo Si alloys in place of the original 15's and a set of lowering springs, he offered it to me for peanuts when the mot was about to expire and he didn't want to spend on it (not that it needed much as far as I could see) but I had no need for it as I had just bought another Sierra, I wish I had bought it to be honest thinking back to all the work we did on it.
