Hi folks, bagged myself a nice sturdy MKII Twin Wheeler and could do with a few bits and pieces. Van looks a lot worse than it actually is and chassis is all solid thankfully so not a major project. Could do with a bonnet, even a modified one will do as it may well be having a 3.0 Jag V6 in there soon so modded wouldn't be too far out of place. Mine's more than repairable but I'd like to keep labour to a minimum on this one... Need the glass that's missing that I've replaced with cardboard at the moment. Sliding door, sliding glass... Rear arches - Rubber ones, even though they're not bad, I just find them plain old nasty and would LOVE some big o'le steelies... I'll add more when I think of it. Based in Birmingham so closer the better of course! Thanks in advance

Sliding door vans are mega rare in the UK, in fact I think thats the only LWB mk2 van ive seen thats had them. The glass might be the same as they used on the chassis/ cowl vans though. Sign up on Fred Mk1mk2transit forum and ask for parts on there. There are a couple of people who might have them - Victor or Ralph Mk2 bonnets all tend to rot so are quite sought after - if its not beyond saving it would be worth while welding it up. Ditto rear steel arches, £50 each last time someone offered me some a couple of years ago, I'm tight so i didn't want them that much.
Looking forwards to a progress thread, wheres it been hiding?
Edit keep it locked up/ down a) its an old Ford and there is a spares market for them and b) there is a lot of people wanting them for export in pieces and offering a lot of money.....

It was stashed on a farm in Devon (hence the mud) and somehow survived quite well. We couldn't believe our eyes when it fired up, even more so when it drove and stopped and it didn't even smoke! Yes the bonnet is well within repair so I guess I'll just fix it... £50 each for steel rear arches is actually what I was expecting to pay so at least I'm not miles off! I know it's not much of a defence but the house is 24/7 CCTV and that stretches all the way down the road so at least we'd get to see it go :-) My Anglia was outside my mates house having repairs last week and had 2 break-ins in 1 week so the a**eholes are definitely out in force. Ok thanks for that, will have a looksy. Failing that I suppose the glass will just have to be cut

Just out of interest does this have the 4 speed+ o/d box? If it does I would be interested in it when it comes out along with the extra cross member and prop if you are going the normal MT75 gearbox route?

Think it started life as a 2.0 Petrol, it's s Di engine now. I haven't looked into the engine at all so your guess is as good as mine till I get some serial numbers. As it's not already original it'll have the swap and then whatever you need will be up for grabs

a bit of 4mm polycarb would sort your sliding window.

2.4 would be a York diesel. The only petrol options were the 2.0 pinto or special order 3.0 essex.
A plant glazing place should be able to cut something to your pattern if it's just flat glass.

Thanks! She's attracted quite a few visitors lately which is always nice. They've all said the same as above, LWB with a sliding door is a rare sight especially in this condition. I've checked all over now and the old girl is literlly unwelded. The most they've done is the odd filler skim here n there!
