I own a few thunderbird sc' they made 2500 a year.
From 1989 to 1996
They were way ahead of there time,
And still are a incredible vehicle for being 20+years old.
Stock 290hp, and with a few mods can push 485hp on the dyno. From a 3.8 liter v6...
All super coupes come with a Supercharger, and aluminum 1 and a half inch ,large half shafts for the independent rear suspension
The LX models came with half inch half shafts and a 3.8 v6 and a 4.6 v8
And have many options,
like auto-dim, firm ride, speed sensitive steering, independent suspension, and many more options.
I've owned 7 of these magnificent cars.and about every year made.
These were used in Nascar and road racing, for all the years they were made. In 1997 the stopped production, then in 2002 they brought out a retro style that used the lincon ls chassis.
But was short lived and unlike.
The fastest one was a 1994 black on black. It ran a 10.20 at the quarter mile track @135mph
I installed so many go fast parts,
Most important is the undrive pully kit on the rest of the pullys with a smaller one on the supercharger so it spins faster and builds much more boost ,
stock 12lbs of boost with smaller pully 19 to 25lbs of boost, removed the stock intercooler and remounted it in lower bumper with a much larger intercooler , and a bigger radiator, because they were side by side with intercooler, added a 3inch taller blower top on the supercharger, B&M shift kit 3500 stall converter , tans cooler and temp gauge, tach w/shift light, B&M ripper slap shifter, cold air intake that runs into lower bumper ,cool can has 20foot of aluminum gasline in it to add ice to and a high volume fuel pump,75mm mass flow air and larger fuel injectors, 4 piston brake calipers, 4 slotted and cross drilled rotors,
installed 2 3/4"inch borla x pipe dual exhaust , bored out the 3.8 to a 4.1 v6, forged pistons ,steel crank, roller lifters and rockers, light weight flywheel, aluminum driveshaft, 373gears in a quick change rear with other gears I've had the car upto 165mph, race gears I runderstand about 140mph,and a ton of other goodies..
I love to smoke chevy corvettes, ford mustangs ,pontiac gto's,cgevy camaros, pontiac gtp's , and everything else that I come across.
I'll try to post pics of my build
I haven't seen a spot for that yet.
And I'll post some of my other t-bird sc projects soon.
