Ford Mk1/2 gearbox issue - please help - calling all Ford experts!
Fitted to a Sylva Leader
Morning all, been helping a friend with a clutch issue. I have made a brief vid showing what’s going on, I’m no Ford expert so i thought this is the perfect place to get some guidance. I suspect the bell housing is fooked, however I’m open to other suggestions.
Thanking you in advance!!

richards-gbs-zero.blogspot.com/2012/07/Should not be able to move back - that bellhousing looks more worn out than a really worn out thing - Can the pivot be drifted out and replaced still - is there enough meat left in the housing? - build it up with JB?

Thanks for the replies - looks like a replacement bellhousing is in order!

The gearbox you have is a 2000e so I don't think a normal type E bellhousing from a cortina or type 9 is not going to fit. I looked at the 2000E box from a mk2 Cortina that I have here to compare, but as mine is hydraulic, the fulcrum is different to yours.

You have the wrong thrust bearing is the main issue there. That should be a sliding fit on the gearbox nose. Aside from the broken bell, jonsey is correct a bellhousing from a type E or T9 wont fit a 3 rail box. so make sure your replacement bell is from a an Escort which used cable clutch.
