I have an itch to scratch in the form of the Chrysler 300. I don't know why but I'm of that age now were I want something big & stupid. I'm not looking at other car suggestions but info on the 300. Do any forum users have actual knowledge of them, faults, issues etc..? What's the best model to buy for my budget of £4k. Here's one I have seen locally to me recently.

It's a Merc E class underneath, the OM642 V6 CRD engine is a peach to be fair, only things I've encountered is injector seals and oil cooler leaks, they look better in estate form too imho. I really like the wheels on that one too.

I always thought they looked like a weird mix of Tonka toy and hearse. That said, I wouldn't say no. The facelift ones look nicer and the CRD will see 30+ MPG fairly easily. They're meant to be very reliable, which is always good.

If only there was a V8 petrol manual, I'd be up for one...
...although my lovely wife really doesn't like them

I've always quite liked the Touring, I just feel like I'd be making loads of excuses about the interior if I ever gave anyone a lift. You know those times when you try to justify its flaws through explaining how much if a bargain it it?

Apparently front suspension wear is a common problem.

I used to really want one too, nearly bought one a couple of times. Then a friends dad got one and I had a close up view on it and was in it a couple of times as well as helping do something to the suspension or brakes (can't recall). The interior was a real let down and it all just put me right off. Not terribly helpful I know, but I was just left with the impression that the mechanicals and the interior didn't match up to the promise of the fantastic exterior.

This...I drove a Sebring and a Crossfire of the same era and the interior was cheap, nasty and uncomfortable. They do look gangsta tho...if one came up cheap enough I'd be keen.

I used to always want one when they first came out, we had one as a company car in Kenya I think it was, the interior was made of wheely bins and everything rattled, which was annoying and I remember the auto box being tragic as well as the suspension clattering through every pot hole

I had a 5.7 hemi tourer for a couple of years. One of the best cars I've ever had. Better ride quality than my brothers 97 Bentley. Incredible sound quality from the stereo. Very reliable. A tone ring failed bringing the abs light on. Fault codes on the dash, no need to plug in, super cheap and 2 hours to fix. Mostly superb. The interior is a bit plasticky, but still feels special in its vastness. Couldn't turn off the traction control though so just a little tyre roasting possible before it stopped it. Seriously good value for money.

Always loved the exterior styling of these, the bulky with low roof line reminiscent of the Rover P5 Coupe. The estates in particular look well proportioned.
Considered one about 3 years ago when I gave up the company car but in the end I bought a Volvo V70(P3) due to the overall package(especially interior) with the 2.5T 5 cylinder unit.

As others have said, but get the Hemi V8, don’t get the oiler.
