Anyone got one or an equivalent? I’m considering getting one for my mini for the winter months in my garage. Looking online their customer service seems to have some shocking reviews and I get the impression that they’re out of stock at the moment. Has anyone bought a similar equivalent? Or even have one for sale? 😆

I tried to buy a couple for my mate at work. I've never dealt with a company that seemed so intent on not getting my money.

I’ve had an Outdoor Carcoon for the past 19 years; it’s a well made piece of kit and has been utterly reliable. BUT, as mentioned above even then they seemed to be doing me a favour selling me one!

I am looking for one of these for my beetle, but as mentioned, carcoon don't seem to want to sell them and they are insane money for what they are! I want a framed version, because I don't want to be dragging the cover on and off the roof every time I actually use the car... you want some basic tent poles included sir? Sure, that will be an extra £500! The in the garage one linked above... for my ickle beetle... £1849!! Starting to wonder if there is a market for a sensibly priced alternative. RR crowdfunding project?

£650 for one from the link I put up That's not got a frame in though. I was looking at similar at the Classic Car Show, you basically end up dragging most of the cover over the roof of your car, which I don't want to be doing.

Wouldn’t take any effort at all to fit a small frame inside it to keep it off the car though. 2 hr job piece of p1ss

I have a couple, one from Carcoon and one from Airflow UK. As everyone has said, Carcoon is pretty much a non existent brand now. God knows why they insist on keeping their site live, taking orders, with what seems like no intent to supply. I've had replacement filters on order for over 2 years! Anyway I digress. Carcoon:This one I've had for about 5 years. I bought it to try and protect my Golf against the elements of my parents garage in deepest, darkest Devon. Considering how damp the storage was, it did a great job. Pros: Decent quality materials used, thick base sheet and of sturdy construction. Still going strong after 3 garage moves. Also useful for stopping anything bashing against the car if you have to shuffle up and down the sides. Cons: Customer service and parts availability. Being frameless, you have to drag the top sheet over the car which is less than ideal and was mentioned above. If you aren't using the car for a while not a huge deal - I usually throw a sheet over the car, put the cover over the top, inflate, hop in and remove the sheet as it deflates a little, then let it reinflate. If it's opened regularly it would be a PITA! Airflow UK:This one I've had about 6 months. Bought as a poor mans garage whilst I wrestle my Transporter restoration. It sits inside one of those outdoor Clarke tents so is technically 'outside' but under cover. It's also my workshop Pros: This one has a frame, an access door on each side and one at the front so you can drive in and out. Like the Carcoon, the materials used are decent quality and it's done a sterling job of keeping the van dry over winter (bare metal resto, so pressure on it was high!). Customer service was excellent, pretty much arrived next day. Cons: Really annoying it doesn't have a door at the rear too. The framework is a little temperamental and the fixings a little flimsy. Part of this is the van is a little large to fit in it really so that may be why! Overall I think the concept has proved itself to me. Both vehicles have remained dry, despite being in hostile environments, and the interiors mould free. They aren't cheap (I think the Carcoon was about £400 many moons ago, the Airflow around £500) but for those of us who don't have double skinned walls or a garage of questionable quality, they are definitely worth consideration. I'd be intrigued how well the proper outdoor ones last being beaten by the elements. If you have any specific questions and I can help give us a shout!

Fit a fan in the wall of your garage? Anyone done this? Thinking about doing that, solar or wind-powered?

I had a carcoon bike bubble for my Harley, but it's such a ball ache dragging the cover on / off every time I wanted to ride it I ended up not using it.
I've just bought a Hamilton Classics Cair-o-port for when my bug returns from resto - it's a framed version so easier to get the car in / out on, also the framed carcoon ones seem to be very stingy on headroom.

That looks ideal! As long as it clears my garage door, I think that the one I will go for too, thank you.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, really useful.
I'm only planning on using it when the car is away Sept-April sort of time so I’m not too worried about putting the lid on etc.
Think I'm going to get the one that Demon Tweaks sells, mainly because they actually want to sell it 😆

I had one of these back when I had a concours car. It worked well but a fan in the wall would probably do the job or a dehumidifier in the garage.
