Hi
I built my own camper a Sprinter MWB about 12 years ago and at the time i had no problem registering it as a Camper with the DVLA it only took just over a week. I sold it 3 years ago after many years of great service.
I have now seen a camper that's very good and has been converted professionally but nor registered as a camper van with the DVLA. I also have to change the Tax on the vehicle as it was registered for a disabled use and remove a tail lift from it.
I have read the descriptions on the DVLA site and it conforms to all interior specification except the exterior :- It does not have Graphics on the outside, an Awning attachment and a High roof, but my wife can stand in it . Its a Mercedes Sprinter SWB low roof.
Has anybody here registered a conversion to a Camper with the DVLA recently and/or had any problems. I've heard the waiting list is longer now.
Any advice on the matter or experience of this would be appreciated.
the van is quite local to me but I'm not sure which way is the best way to proceed.
