Wandered outside for a drive out this morning to be met by this... Its been windy but cant find anything thats been blown into it so only leaves vandalism really (i don't live in the greatest neighborhood atm) and the crater suggests its been struck with something. Worst thing is its parked next to my bedroom window and i didnt hear a thing. Luckily insurance are covering it by its a 60 quid excess first and that would normally buy 2 months food (student). To say I'm peed off is an understatement, seems like the only follow up il get is a customer service call from the police... It is a £150 car and its never cost me more than tax and a test fee before but ive nothing else roadworthy. Any other amatuer csi buffs? My housemate reckons someones been thrown onto it but I'm sure we would have heard something.

From the impact area on the glass it looks like 'someone' rather than 'something'. Have a close look to see if there are any marks on the bonnet where someone's jumped on it.
Sorry to see that mate, fortunately you're covered, but still a king-sized PITA.

Harsh Least your insurance will take the sting out of the tail though I guess. If its as windy there as it is here it could have been the wind, but it looks like a big heavy object to blow onto it and damage it that badly. Like you say, looks like someones jumped onto it or something. Any footprints on the bonnet?

Theres a few marks on the bonnet but theres been dents on that and the roof since ive had it so would be hard to tell, makes more sense though but as soon as i said nothing was stolen the police pretty much gave me a crime no. and hung up.

Thats been made by the heel of a foot.
centre impact fractures (tiny crazy-paving stuff) = round & flatish low velocity impact (foot) Secondary impact fractures (larger 'crazy-paving' effect = compound weight fractures (foot attached to leg being used as a 'club') Outer 'fleece' fractures (thin lines) = shock fractures (like ripple on a pond)
don't ask how I know...i just do
Theres only really 1 other thing that would make that pattern and thats a baseball bat (or similar)....and you have to hit pretty darned hard to do that.....hard enough to hurt yourself

R.R. glass-related crime liasion officer then! wind was right and strong round here, lifted a bit of my garage roof and i had to climb up and put concrete blocks on it this morning for the time being. scared for my cars as theres lots of stuff that could be blown easily! would have thought a brick or something here but there'd be something lyign around so that sucks

I'm not completely useless, I can be used as a bad example.

Below your bedroom window? I'd say you've been sleepwalking. Or maybe a fair maiden slipped and fell on her way up the drainpipe to your bedroom.
