Hello chaps, a bit older than our usual fare, but very interesting anyway.
My Father-In-Law is having to let his long term project Daimler(s) go as circumstances, space and other projects are taking priority.
There's actually two cars, but the sensible idea would be to finish the part-restored one first using the other for spares if needed.
They're both 1954, but are re-registered on A plates. The main car has had much of the restoration done and is really just a case of bolting it back together and then painting the body. The engine is rebuilt (using some pistons that came from Australia at great expense apparently!) and much shotblasting, overhauling and painting has taken place underneath. Looking at the shots below, it looks incomplete, but I'm assured that all the parts are there and in the worst case scenario there's a whole other car!
Here's some (random) pics:
In summary, two cars - certainly enough to make one lovely solid Daimler Conquest and more than likely two. The buyer would have to collect them (both in Erith - J1 M25). Forgive my vagueness, but they're not my cars - please PM me for more info and I can pass on my Father-in-Law's number for any detailed queries. If I've left anything out it's probably because it's not my car rather than me trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes! Please ask if there's anything. I think he's after about £700 for the pair, although any sensible offers will be taken seriously.
ps. I didn't say this, but how about swapping the running gear from a late-model donor Jag! . Hot Rod!
