This weekend I have mostly been buying... She's amazing, you'd prob think i'm lying if I said there's not a patch of filler and the underside has never been welded, its like a time-warp affair! Even got the original 60's gas hob and gas coolBox. The only slight issue with her is a whining diff bearing, does anyone have a complete axel they want rid off?

that looks absolutely luvverly, well done! My sentiments aswell!! Top purchase - I especially like the long side windows on these, makes for a nice 'airy' interior Imagine how much a VW Bay window camper of the same vintage & condition would have cost you - and this is far more interesting IMO

Fantastic. Saw a few old campers this weekend keeping it real. great stuff.
Whats the plan with it? Just use it or some mods in mind?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I want to keep her original as she's so well preserved, but i reckon cherry red steels and whitewalls wouldn't go amiss. And maybe take off the grill on the front?

Wheels sound like a good touch, I like the grille though. I'd want to mod it but its great to see campers loved and used in original form.

It was my intention to mod her, but when you see her she's just to original. Prob goes against the whole idea of this site, but hey, sometimes things need leaving alone!
Who is this Russel you speak of?

I know exactly what you mean. I don't think everything has to be modded. Just driving the thing is enough.
Can't help wondering what deep dish wheels would be like on one though!

I'll have to take a look underneath and see what could fit on her, tyres are huge, prob have to get them from a Commercial Garage or summat so not sure what type of Rim i'd get away with! Ah yes i remember, he's got the Commer with the holes in

Looks great and sounds like its a good'un too I know where you're coming from with the not-wanting-to-mess-it-up-by-modifying attitude. You can do quite a lot wth some tasteful "bolt on" type of modes though.

YOW!!! That is the freakin' nuts! Looks in lovely condition! No forklift damage or anything!! I fear that Russell'z one might have been packed off to the scrapper already in exchange for some triumph bits.. but don't fear, it will have gone to our local scrapper who keep everything and crush nothing

I pick her up on Friday from Newcastle Upon Tyne, a nice long 200 mile trip home in her, always good to get some miles on for peace of mind! Good steady jaunt down the A1/M1/A50 to stretch her legs. Shame he lives so far away, plus the axels not something you can have off in 5 mins! Reckon i'll have to strip her and replace the bearings. I've heard the underpinnings are mostly Hillman Hunter??? If this is the case does anyone know if the axels the same?

Axels are as per Humber Something.... not Hunter at all, but something 50's... Engine is a low-comp version of the Rootes 1725 (as in Hunter)
