just been faffing with the car, i've made a section of grille out of another grille that would fit in the grill i have knocking about. the round lamp grille already needs repairing so i'll have to butcher it about a bit either way. with without obviously the car won't look anything like it did back then but try and imagine it a lot lower with crystal crosshairs, mk1 golf kamei front spoiler and german plates in nimbus grey ;D

the main reason i want to do it is because i've not seen it done before, whether i like it more than with the badge is something i'm undecided on.

If you MUST keep an identity, then the individual letters option. But de-badge first and see how it looks......

I had the individual letters one for a while, and did like it, but try finding one for a reasonable amount of money these days plus with stuff like that its the playing to the ford scene way of doing things, like putting a set of happiches on a mk2 golf (as opposed to doing a VW scene way of doing things on a ford ;D )

Okay how about another way : Find the concept drawings for a Mk2 Escort.. if it has a badge in the drawings stick it on, if not, take it off Cars always look better in concept drawings... you know,.. lower, arch fillings wheels, no compromise

(Wish I had the bottle to put arch skirts on my Sierra a la Ford's "aerodynamics" concept pictures from around 1981!) Otherwise, find out what everyone on OSF would do, then do the opposite.

Don't debadge it. Debadged cars always just say to me "spide that doesn't want people to know he's driving a saxo, and thinks losing the badge will fool them". The ghia grill looked good. Taking it off just for the sake of it isn't that cool imo.

De-badge FTW! You've done so much re-styling and modding that Ford can take no credit for that car any more

its almost worth debadging just because it will look a lot different to all the others but generally I'm not a big fan of debadged on a big grille like that because it needs something to split it up a bit.
so i say keep it

More (non-)wisdom ... How smooth/monocoloured is the rest of the car? Debadged grills work best when the rest of the car is pretty smooth/mono coloured. also... I made this, it makes my eyes go funny if I look at it too long

Don't usually have a preferrence when it comes to badges, but the badgless one looks great. (Also like the off centre one!)

Seeing as you're going 'out there' with the DUBBBBBAAZZZ-styling... Adapt to fit? With a Golf '16v' badge in place of the G60 one... ORRRR Yank-spec mk1 Fester grill? *n
