That was an awesome weekend, every car was cool, and lots of funny stories, Johnnysomerset's rabbit hand puppet and SOC's tent building pulava are but a couple. Also big thanks to everybody who played with the dog, never at any show before have random people thrown his toy up and down for him lol. Sorry to hotwire for the dog not liking him riding a bike for some reason. Also big thanks to Rian (grizz) & Nic for the cool pics and making my girlfriend feel welcome, and also to John (gtvsaviour) for looking after the dog for an hour while we walked after the museum.
Roll on 2009!
Matt

Didn't manage to get one i'm afraid, infact I wasn't even there. I just got back to the tent and my girlfriend said he rode past and the dog went mental lol. Quite weird as it was the only person he did it to, everbody else he was mega friendly with.

I blame the bike as he seemed to be okay with me on the skateboard

I somehow missed that. Wish I'd seen it, I don't think I would have stopped laughing for the rest of the day. Will get my own pics up later, but just wanted to say thanks to everyone for such a great time, my liver hates you all, though. Thanks again to the Dutch contingent for allowing us to sit with you Saturday night, and speaking English for our benefit whilst intoxicated. Was the best car show I can remember, and it was fantastic meeting you all, and putting some faces to names

Aaah, I reckognize that! Every boy's dream from way back in early 80's in USSR ladies and gentlemen! It's either a MINSK or DESNA or AIST - more or less the same bicycle under different names. Time to confess, comrades - who owns it? Where did you get it? BATTLE AXE !!! I gotta say this is my new favourite colour! What is that?

Finally home in one piece after wrestling a broken Sunny along the m-way, complete with TH350 gearbox parts flying around at head level Big thanks to everyone for the awesome vibes, especially Mr & Mrs Goosegog for letting us invade their 'kitchen', Jonny69 for a world-class breakfast, Opelscot for being an all-round top neighbour, and anyone else who may have done me favours on the wrong side of my vodka.... ;D Consider my expectations totally and utterly surpassed, was a truly legendary weekend!!

what a great weekend. i think i talked to maybe 10 times more people in 2 days than i spoke to at the retro show '05, C.a.R.S '06 and RR'07 put together, which was fantastic. big thanks to JS, braindamaged, Bodie&Doyle, tig and his mate, paulH, mrstigma, benzboy and street, speedman, rev dick deluxe and especially mark(techno gear boy)bognor. you guys are the people who really made the show for me, i love you all. ;D anyhoo, me and jack got stuck in the M1 jam for nearly 3 hours, so to the poeple who set of before us, you were all lucky. was just after 10 when i got home last night suffering slightly from carbon monoxide poisoning, seems the exhaust is leaking somewhere, but not blowing, and getting into the passenger compartment. maybe nows the time to get my new system sorted and get the damn thing twin piped. i didnt take too many pics, simply because i knew there would be a whole host of really great shots from the resident snappers. heres what i took anyway. sorry about the quality, all taken by me, in a bit of a state with my trusty samsung D900 phone.

It was very much the people rather than the cars that made it for me too TCC, Id like to think ive made a fair few mates this w/e that I will consider as so for plenty of the future Nothing like a bit of hardcore drinking, old cars and stupidity in a field to bring the lunatics out of the asylum and together as one. Watching lowriders, 2CVs and everything inbetween at 10.30am, beer already in hand listening to Tower of Power babbling curse word is exactly what the doctor ordered

You've mentioned this a few times : Nothing like a bit of hardcore drinking But I believe that had A LOT less to do with things than : Id like to think ive made a fair few mates this w/e that I will consider as so for plenty of the future Unless you are totally socially inept you don't need the booze to make new friends It was 50/50 for me, great to see old and new faces, have fun and generally hang out, coupled with some great cars turning out on the Sunday too.

Very true HW, the mere fact that a couple of people in the bit we generally hung out in don't drink ever is testament that even when if people were sober or not, we all had fantastic conversations with people we'd never met ever before and I would happily spend time with again in different situations. I did a year teetotal and I made just as many aquaintances as ever. Now, i like to do what i enjoy best, which is have a drink and talk about cars.
I was amazed that everyone wanted to talk to everyone, no matter what. Being a music festival veteran, it was refreshing to not be surrounded by morons

Having turned up at 10am Sunday for various different reasons, I'm really narked that I missed out on the rest of the weekend but very glad I at least get to see it played out here. Utterpiffle and Big Perm will know that we need a show like this to replicate the days when we used to all meet up... Although we're older and wiser, the sentiment is still the same. From my little slice of RR show, it seemed to be spot on. Thanks to all involved for making such an effort. It really felt like a huge pub car park meet... Just a bunch of mates chinning about cars... As for the colour of this, it's a RAL tone.. Brungrau I think, a German truck colour chosen because it's meant to be more resistant to stone chips and damage. Oh yeah, the B230E motor spat it's cambelt last night on the motorway. I think that's just karma for the ace weekend I had ;D BATTLE AXE !!! I gotta say this is my new favourite colour! What is that?[/quote]
