I`m up north, near a town called Bodø Living in the sticks sucks some times, because there arent that many like minded people to hang out with (local car club is all about talking curse word about other brands and so forth ), and most cool things for sale are far far away! Anyway, some better pics of the Monte Carlo, still havent gotten around to installing the new dissy, because of curse word weather and full garage.. Half the car is bonnet, really... ;D So as you can see, its got a few rust issues to be sorted out, amongst other things. I`m planning on ordering a full left rear fender, seeing as its been pretty bodged up before, and new ones arent that expensive. Right side fender will probably just get a new arch. But its ripe for a body-off resto, really, but for the time being i plan on getting it patched up good-enough, and EU approved and on plates, so i can drive it this summer. Today i spendt a little spannering time on my 1991 Celica GT4, removing the fuel tank to be exact. Its got a pretty bad leak on one of the pipes on the pump (it actually sheared off when i dropped the tank), and the filler neck is completely buggered! And i really should get off my ass, and reassemble the turbo too! The state of the filler neck.... At least the old beast has some company in the end of the barn, 1969 Opel Commodore coupe And a couple of 16v engines, one with a snail of some kind bolted to it Every direction you look, theres another car.... ;D Then there`s my blue 1977 Kadett, wich has deteriorated quite a bit since i bought it. I have put about 40000kms on it, with minimal upkeep, so no wonder really! Needs new front fenders, new brake discs, and a paintjob, so its not all that bad really Almost got a full exhaust bodged together for this too

Nice to see an update now, the spring is moving closer now, that means more work on my cars. I got the mustang up and running and have used that a bit the last few weeks. Have you gotten rid of the snow down south? I have a weiand 4bbl intake, an edelbrock 750 double pumper carb, a dizzy, a two ported heads for sbc 350, eight .30 overbore pistons, and a good std 350 crank lying around if you'd be interested for your monte carlo. I got them from my uncle as he upgraded his 66 chevelle 350 engine to a 383 stroker. Let me know if you're interested. Also, keep the updates coming

Sudden influx of concrete orders made for little spare time to work on the cars, but i have at least tidied up the garage some, and started fixing up one room of the woodshed as an engine shop. Oh, and me having a job that involves going everywhere and to everyone, is probably not a good thing Its a late 1971, needs a wheelarch and a sill on the right side. Funkyhunk, what do you want for the 350 parts?

With the variety of needy cars you are collecting is it getting out of control? Not that I should comment upon such things with the toys I'm not working on, but it's hard enough keeping just a few up to standard before they deteriorate. At least they will deteriorate slower than the many deserving cars that get scrapped.

Most of my cars come from behind old barns, from out in the sticks, and so forth, so i figure they are better off with me getting them I do list cars for sale, but without getting into too much curse word-slinging, people up here still live in the 80`s when it comes to car pricing, and the "you bought it for x money, you arent allowed to take more for it, even tho its fixed up some" mindset is really strong here... Still, i see prices going up on a lot of the models i have, so a lot of cars that i own, i wouldnt be able to afford now. Besides, better that i got them, and work some on them, than the cars getting scrapped, `cause thats what was in store for about 80% of my collection

That is a sad sight for undoubtedly rare variants. Better to try, than not to try at all. Just gets depressing seeing our hopes for them slipping further out of reach.

Yeah, i was disappointed to see how bad those Opels were, but the Delivery`s werent even painted inside, they were meant to be disposable, so pretty few have survived. They rust like crazy due to NO rust treatment! I try gathering up old cars of any sort, and sending them on, but whenever i say that, greedy people seem to think i should GIVE them away But all the people who have actually brought money, and wanted a car i have, have left with that car I`m not trying to be difficult, but again, i`m not doing the work of gathering up cars so that some schmuck with dollarsigns in his eyes can make a quick buck off me.

You know you have done something right, when you go on a roadtrip to get a manky Senator B, and come home with an even mankier `62 Impala

You know you have done something right, when you go on a roadtrip to get a manky Senator B, and come home with an even mankier `62 Impala Ok we need to know more about that Impala And I can't beleive I turned down one of these (MOT'd and fitted with a big block) for scrap money when I was about 20 as I didn't like the look of it, my how things change!

Oh, yeah, the Impala, forgot all about making a post about that Well, the story started like this, i was gonna go visit a friend from where i went to truck driving school a few years ago, and he told me he had a manky, but useable Opel Senator B, with a 3 litre and locking diff, so i figured i'd take my trailer and pick it up, and have some fun on a trackday meet or something. This Senator: Pretty well equipped CD edition, digidash and all that jazz. Oh, and i got that door for free for my van, since my slidedoor is really manky at the bottom. So, i stuck my car trailer on the back of my trusty rusty Chevy G20, and off i went Some nice roads along the way at least What the picture doesnt show, is that the asphalt is almost worn through to the older layer, so its a bit tracky to drive on. Fuelled up the old beasty, the 6.2 might not be fast, but i averaged 1.5litres per 10 kms on the trip (wich was in excess of 700kms), wich isnt half bad, especially since i weighted the car at 2900kg, and the trailer at 1800kgs when fully loaded! An awesome day for a roadtrip, i'll tell you that... Yet the only one who'd ride with me, was good ol' Johnny My destination being somewhere in those mountains in the back there It might not be pretty, but it sure is slow! And i must admit i got worried in the hills some times, seeing as i have no idea how good the coolant hoses are (should change those....), and i know its leaking water somewhere (think its the regulator for the heater) and my engine temp meter doesnt work, oil pressure doesnt work, only got speedo, fuel and voltage, hah Oh, yeah! The Impala. So, i saw he had a '62 more-door Impala in the garage, so while looking for a battery for the Senny, i asked what he wanted for it. Turns out he wanted a sum i could afford, so i quickly made my mind up, and we started loading that up on the trailer instead, with a spare galvanized frame (got papers for 2 frames, the galv. one is the one belonging to the body, the other is pretty messed up, belonging to a '63 2 door hardtop) A bit of inventive loading there, but it all was balanced nicely, and securely strapped down, even got approved by the fuzz after being pulled over Covering holes for less wind resistance, and more speed, YEAH And roughly half a ton of Impala parts in the back

So then it was back on the road for a lot of this: And all that goes up, must come down again I was a bit spendt after spending quite some time on the road, so didnt take too many pics on the way home. Some nice scenery around those parts Ssssoooooo yeah, thats where i'm at. Getting the Volvo up and welded, so i can stick the Impala into the garage, and start welding on that, its a bit manky since its a project car that got disassembled in 1985, but not too shabby, and the price was definatly right!

So! More messing around with the Volvo, i've been lazy due to warm weather lately, but hey, i've been lazy foorr.... Well, lets just let that lie. Anyway! Started adjusting up the new sill, and started cutting out the old wheelarch. Gonna have to make quite a bit of the inner wheelwell too, curse word. Thinking i'll make it as good as i can, then spot weld it on loosely, so i can adjust before welding it up fully. Kinda starting to regret not shelling out for a proper 4 door wheelarch, gonna have a look at the 142 i have standing around, if that needs an arch, i'm getting a 4 door one for this So then i decided that wirewheeling off all the old bondo from the wheelarch inside the garage, wich wasnt THAT good an idea, so currently having a tea and cookies break with these little balls of fuzz

Great to see the Impala trip, & 144 progress (wheels suit the light blue with a bit of a '90's look). Even if Audi might not be exciting it was interesting to see its unusual engine mounts.

The Audi has now been repaired fully, washed inside and out, and delivered to its new owner, as a trade for her 1995 Civic hatch that needs some love, and some cash my way So thats good! Took some pictures of other stuff i've bought this summer, a 1987 Mercedes 300TE that needs rear arches, and a 1968 beetle that needs some love (but very little rust) It won't fire on cyl 2 for some reason, so i suspect i got some work ahead of me, but hey it was cheap. Also got a free parts car to cut out stuff from for the Merc Arches seem to have rotted out after a badly performed respray at some point in its life, lots of bondo right at the lip of them for some reason? Mmmh, leatherrr. Have tried tidying it a bit, and it seems it'll buff out nicely Not sure what to do with it, but the previous owner mentioned he wouldnt mind buying it back, and he's a sensible fellow, so might just fix it and do that Bought the bug from him aswell! Parts pile The bug has some surface rust and the usual kinks in the front fenders, so that'll have to be sorted. Inside it pretty much just needs a tidying and new front seats Its even got a trailer hitch, haha

Right, been lazy again, much due to new windows for the house arriving and taking up garage space (soon to be sorted, made room in the barn), work starting again (meaning 12 hour days, ugh), and general laziness. Yesterday i decided that the Celica GT4 was too much work for me, seeing as i'm not really into those cars, so i traded it for a 1981 Opel Ascona 1.3s, and some cash. Ascona isnt bad, its been garaged for the last 12 years, but it has had a repaint at some point in its life, and the groundwork for that was less than optimal, so its got a lot of rust freckles. Interior is mostly in great shape, but has wrong coloured armrests in front (got the right ones... Somewhere?), and a hole in the regular place on the driver seat back. Banging stereo too! Bonus SR steering wheel too. Started and took out my other 4 door Ascona, of the SR variety, but as pictures can tell, its a lot less tidy... Front fenders and doors are bad, but i have a complete set of those, so no biggie.
